Unsure. It was the only one I backed to state that they were moving to 5.5 and then people stated they wanted the books in 5.0. Looks like they ended up giving people a choice of 5e or 5.5 in print with a PDF of both versions. I appreciated that they took that route. It was good CS.

I own A5E and all of EN Publishing content and do not use it. I collect RPGs and print books. I am not trying to ‘show up’ or prove anything. None of my players have purchased 5.5 because they only buy stuff I run.

Collector. I have the alt covers and normals just in case I am ever in a place where I get to play and someone wants to run 5.5.

I collect the core books from all editions of D&D.

I am in a KS where the creators said they are going to switch the books to 5.5. They had to go back to 5.0 because the backers revolted.

I wonder how many people are buying the new core but not using them. I have 2 copies of each but they will remain unused on the shelf other than collectible or if I play, not DM, in a 5.5 group. I will not run 5.5.

2014 or LevelUp. For monsters, Kobold’s Tomes or Flee ramp things up. Kobold’s Lair books that pair with the Tome’s are also great to drop in short sessions around their monsters.

The average player does not matter. It matters if they cannot find a D&D 5e/5.5 game because the DMs have moved away.

Most likely they do not consider it because it is more expensive to print in the US or they just are not aware of the printers who specialize in different fields. The US has a lot of print capacity but certain shops specialize in the type of content they produce.

They publish thousands of books and journals per month. They could handle more capacity, in general, and they make their own paper sourced from Wyoming and Montana.

What changes did they make? I did not see anything about Drivethru changes.

I am not too worried in the short term although raw materials costs are going to be awful for my print suppliers if this goes before 3 months. The just in time inventory models are what may break us first. No one carries sufficient supply anymore.

Not true. There are several large printers in the US that do excellent color prints. A large number of medical journals are published in the US with color pictures, for example. I work with a few large volume US-based printers.
