True. I think it would be cool either way. I have been wanting to play older editions again but I also want new fancy tools to use with them. I still have e-tools and my 2e disks but I would sub to a modern site in an instant to have a DDB-like experience for older editions of D&D.

Yep. Think of the data mining. They could release the player created monsters into the wild and the most popular ones get taken for official releases. This way, they crowd source a lot of design. It may not be great for the current devs though.

This is where a Kickstarter could serve. Backers could get a free year of sub plus maybe the core rulebooks of their choice edition. The KS could well determine the potential profitability.

I think it depends on the price. If they were discounted in the same way at Drivethru or even steeper, then it could work. Of course, you could just make it a straight sub only to access the content.

It is a character creator, you can use it to build house ruled items. You can hook it into discord and run a game complete with dice rolls. It also serves as a database of all the books for 5e.

If they create rules for it when it releases for offline, then it would be fine. Personally, I would guess that they do not have a solid creation bible for monster creation that lends itself to being able to make monsters by us normal folk. A lot of 5.5 feels a bit unfinished and you can tell...

They could have just built a monster creator on DDB that you could only access it you own the DMG.

3.0 was superior although it took me years to realize it. It plays closer to the style of AD&D. The spells have more flavor and it is not a tactical grid nightmare that 3.5 became. I really wish you could get the 3.0 PDFs. I, stupidly, got rid of most of my 3e books.

It is sitting on my shelf now. :P

HK-47 predates high republic so we know that droid tech can be better. B-1 battle droids were just a companies generic brand.

Last time I used cartoony, I got an epic rant on ENWorld about using that term. It is difficult to find terms to describe not liking the art without getting folks who love it on this site dogpiling you for a preference.

Thank you. I do not like the art. It just seems off to me. I also detest art like Steven Universe and Be Cool Scooby Doo. I just think this new style feels incomplete or hazy. It does not evoke playing D&D to me. Luckily, I do not buy the books to look at the art. I just know I do not like it.

I am just not a fan of the 5.5 style of art. It all look digital or tweeny.

They were used a lot in older editions, especially 2e.
