    D&D 5E (2024) Least stereotypical species/ class combos?

Any artificer who isn’t a gnome. I suppose Dragonborn wizard is still a valid answer, though I played one under the pre-Tasha’s rules.

    D&D 5E (2024) Uncommon items - actually common?

Argument with the god of prices.

    D&D 5E (2024) Uncommon items - actually common?

Yes, that would definitely reduce the number of arguments about how much it cost to cast revivify, because no one would argue what a dtagonshard is worth.

D&D 5E (2014) [House Rule] Dropping proficiency bonus

For this goal, I think a full-on dice pool system might be better, but that’s a lot more work to convert.

D&D 5E (2014) [House Rule] Dropping proficiency bonus

Out of curiosity: have you considered adding an Ability Score die and keeping flat mods for special cases? More dice = more clacky noise = more fun, after all.

Thank you for proving my point.

    D&D 5E (2024) Uncommon items - actually common?

I disagree; I can see the slippery slope here. Sure, for the revivify spell they could have said “a 15-karat diamond that costs 300 gp”, but we’d still have the same argument (what if I can buy a 15-karat diamond that costs 295gp? Does it still work?”) and still have people asking for more...

    D&D 5E (2024) Druid Primal Order wording

My point was: a multiclass wizard/cleric gets the best number. Which makes some sense, it’s just somewhat unexpected.

No, that would be calling it the Denny's of ttrpgs.

    D&D 5E (2024) Druid Primal Order wording

I think this is because you can only apply proficiency from one skill at a time, so you can't add your Arcana and Nature proficiency to the same roll. (This does mean that if you wanted to minimax for Arcana checks, don't play a single-class wizard)

D&D 5E (2024) The Problem with Healing Powercreep

At that level of realism we should also note that wizards and dragons and elves don't exist, and dungeons are usually just one room.

D&D General Rerolling Initiative each Round

As for speeding up or slowing down - I think it really depends on the players. If tuning out is the main issue, it might help as there's an extra set of actions for everyone to take every round, but if analysis paralysis is an issue this would make it worse.

D&D General Rerolling Initiative each Round

Or just accept that an ability that's supposed to last one round now lasts 0-2 rounds. If you like more chaos in your battles this is a good thing.

D&D General Alternate Stats for Initiative [+]

The flip side if this is: whichever stat you pick, you give that one a significant boost in usefulness. Yeah, Dex definitely didn’t need the help but unless the real goal is to make Int more useful you’re just moving the cheese without changing how the maze works. Not that empowering Int is a...

D&D General Alternate Stats for Initiative [+]

Assuming you’re not using the initiative command in a sheet - I’d say your simplest alternative is a flat d20, or d20+specific initiative mods like Alert (which very few monsters have)

D&D General Alternate Stats for Initiative [+]

One thing to note here is: perception (the default for initiative) isn’t a regular skill; you gain proficiency according to your class, much like saving throws. You don’t but it instead of other skills. You have to get at least a little creative to use other skills, though I appreciate the option.

D&D General Did Dragonlance/Krynn exist in 4e canon?

Even if we accept the idea if canon-ness in DnD settings, they aren’t really edition-bound. The canon exists until it’s changed, regardless of rules support. If they wrote a new DL novel during the 4e run, that would be canon. I understand what OP is asking, but that’s just not really how dnd...

    D&D 5E (2024) Uncommon items - actually common?

It’s more Wild West than any other romanticized period in history, just with knights instead of cowboys (Other than minotaurs)
