    Worst Race?

Yeah, silentounce pretty much nailed it. Me, I judged the races on mechanical options. I tend to play and name my characters however I want, not as the book tells me, so that wasn't an important criterion for me. I generally find that text to be uninteresting and uninspired across the board.

    Worst Race?

It's pretty conditional, I'll give you that. As for being worse than Elven Accuracy... isn't that a Daily power, and the Tiefling's an Encounter? If that's the case, I think the comparison is unfair. If not, then yes they're pretty uneven I like Infernal Wrath for Paladins myself; they've...

    Worst Race?

Wow, surprised at all the Tiefling hate. They seem like a decent race to me. Ferocious Rebuke, maybe not. But Fiery Rebuke... yes please. Anyway, on to the topic at hand: Whether or not it's subpar (though I think it is), the half-elf is my least favorite of the races. It just leaves me...

D&D 4E 4e Ranger: New God of Damage? Armor Splinter + Blade Cascade + High Wisdom Ranger

That's not correct. Bonuses are not multiplied, so your example would actually be 2[W] + 13. Granted, you haven't included feats and bonuses from other party members that might get factored in. I imagine that a +26 to damage is pretty doable at level 30.

Why did they not slay the Chaotic Evil Sacred Cow?

I've never liked alignment. It's just too easy for my tastes. It encourages some players to not really think about their characters. At worst, it becomes an irritating sort of thing, used either to justify incredibly asinine actions I don't like this alignment system much more than the last...

    Feynger-Multiclass concept

I don't believe you can replace at will powers until you get access to paragon-path multiclassing. But yes, it can be done.

    Problem with high level wizards....

You're making a character? Why are you playing a game you hate so much? You spend so much time complaining about it, I can only conclude that 4th edition causes you a lot of stress. That's the exact opposite of what a game should do. I say this with no sarcasm whatsoever: do things that...

D&D 4E Obligatory dump stats in 4e: the irrelevance of Intelligence

Haven't really followed the entire thread. I will say that I agree that Intelligence is somewhat lacking in "things to do," for lack of a better term. However, I do think there are enough classes that want high intelligence that it is probably ok. Given the kinds of actions that Wizards and...

    Tiefling Paladin... Ouch

It's cool, happens to us all. :) Anywho, you asked what relates to the Tiefling. As someone said, Infernal Wrath is the Encounter power that lets you add +1 to hit/Cha to damage on the next attack. Fiery Rebuke is a Tiefling paragon feat that lets you add 5 + 1/2 level Fire damage when...

    An Example Character, Levels 1-30

Nice! I pieced together a 10th level Dragonborn Rogue myself, but I went with the Brutal Scoundrel route. Here he is Velak, Level 10 Dragonborn Rogue Ability Scores Str 18 Dex 18 Wis 10 Con 13 Int 11 Cha 14 HP 70 Bloodied 35 Surge 17, per day 7 AC 23, Fort 22, Rex 24, Will 20, Speed 7...

    Core Handbook Errors Discussion

The Ranger's Level 23 Encounter Power, Blade Ward says: Hit: [W] + Strength modifier damage. The "X" in X[W], and should probably be higher than 1.

    Tiefling Paladin... Ouch

... that wasn't obvious? This goes for any attack of any kind. As a general rule, you can't do any damage without hitting. I'm not sure if you're being intentionally snarky, but a lot of folks seem down on the Tiefling... I'm just saying, they look pretty good to me, and here's something you...

    Tiefling Paladin... Ouch

Certainly a good point, but I don't think it invalidates the tactic. Instead, spend the first round casting Wrath of the Gods, Move to engage, then Attack as normal (Charge, At-will, etc.) WotG lasts the whole Encounter, so no need to worry about that. Start doing your job, marking foes and...

    Tiefling Paladin... Ouch

This combo may be worthless in play, because it does take some setup. But with Fiery Rebuke, Infernal Wrath is disgusting. Let's take a Tiefling Paladin, level 12, 19 Strength, 18 Charisma, wielding a +3 bastard sword two handed. On his turn he can: Spend a minor action: Infernal Wrath (+1...

All Possible Ability Scores for 22 Points

Thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to write a formula in Excel that will calculate the point value of any given ability score, unfortunately my Excel skills are not quite that good.
