I had no doubt they did it on purpose. I just completely disagree with their reasons for doing it, and don't think using this optional rule adds anything of value to the game. If you think it does, then use it.

Dropping something you hold is effectively "not an action". It's not a free objection interaction (you are ceasing to interact with it. :) ), so you can drop something and still have your one free objection interaction...

You can make almost any class stealthy. Fighters don't need to be in heavy armor - I play a single class fighter right now that wears no armor. Besides which - group stealth checks don't require everyone to succeed. And rouges aren't stealthy. Rogues are. :p

It's an NPC, it's all DM fiat. But if the NPC has spell slots and spells on that spell list, then it would be able to use the scroll. All that's required for a spell scroll is that the spell be on your spell list. (It's having the spell slots and spell list that would be DM fiat. :p )

Pretty much any party where everyone focuses on the same "role" - i.e. everyone is support, everyone is a healer type, everyone is DPS, or everyone is a "tank". But the worst would probably be the party where everyone is lightly armored DPS with no ability to recover if things go wrong...
