Absolutely. If they would reasonably use the item, they will use the item. And I only use CR as a loose guideline anyway (since I allow feats and multi-classing) so it's not a problem. If the monsters don't have magic items to use, I'll buff them in other ways to make them more...

Fun for you maybe. All I can say is that it sounds like anti-fun to me. You brag about making "challenges" that only target their weaknesses. Are there ever any challenges that involve something they are good at, or is that reserved for the characters that are built according to your pet...

I hear you man, loud and clear. You have limited skills as DM and can't handle anything complicated. It's OK, we all have to start somewhere. Preferably with less threats and DM tantrums, but whatever.

We get it, you can't handle well built characters, they threaten your ego, so you throw a DM tantrum and kill them.

Bragging about how you intend to kill a PC because their player is better at making a character than you are at running the game doesn't win you any respect. It just makes me feel sad for your players. And happy that I don't have to deal with you. :)
