It's possible that Gaze Attack don't care about cover - just Heavy Obscurement. I.e. if you can see their eyes (or they can see you for some of them) that's enough. In that case it would work through a pane of glass or a Wall of Force (unless you rule that being a magical barrier it will...
Dwarf Cultures:
Deep Dwarves: Short, Hairy, and Violent
Hill Dwarves: Short, Hairy, and Violent with a bad Scottish accent.
Mountain Dwarves: Short, Hair, Violent and Drunk...with a slightly less bad Scottish accent.
A mind flayers Mind Blast "magically emits psychic energy in a 60' cone". There is nothing about it ignoring cover.
Does the Wall of Force provide total cover? It would in the hemisphere formation.
So the question is - does the Mind Flayer's mind blast act enough like a spell that it...
I don't care about your question. It's an obvious attempt to deflect.
Yes, that would have been something approaching accurate.
It really isn't. You were trying to make your position appear stronger by claiming special knowledge of what "most people" would do when your sample size isn't...
Um, I'm afraid there are - if you want to multi-class. You have to meet the minimum stats for both the class you start in, and the class you are switching too.
It's easy to miss, but the rule is there.
[sienfeld] Who are these people? [/seinfeld]
Certainly not me, I like warlocks and don't expect them to do anything more than their class description and class abilities say they do.
And I for one don't particularly care about the "expectations" of generic, hypothetical "people"...
Perhaps adjust your expectations then?
Or play a caster that works more in accordance to your expectations.
That was true even before XGtE. If you want to be an Eldritch Blast specialist you can. Or you can focus on doing other things with your warlock and have Eldritch Blast as the...
You might also consider using "awarded loot" rather than "found loot". They generally find only mundane items off the monster, but at different points an NPC will award them a specific item for their services and actions.
It may be the local noble rewarding them for taking care of bandits...
I find the poll to be insufficient. I sometimes like to hit stuff as a Blade Pact Warlock. Or as an Eldritch Knight fighter. Sometimes as both. (I have actual characters that are blade pact warlock, eldritch knight fighter, and a chain pact/eldritch knight fighter/warlock. Plus a tome...
Right after you finish the long rest. In this case it takes "Long Rest + X minutes" to finish preparing your spells, where X = total spell levels changed.
What are you going on about?
"Whenever you finish a long rest" means your character was doing it during the long rest. You (as a player) just don't have to decide what was being prepared/regained/whatever until the long rest is finished.
Eh, I look at Eldritch Blast for a Warlock the same way I look at a fighter's primary weapon. It's their fallback attack when they don't have something more interesting to do with their spells and invocations.
In many ways, a Warlock can be seen an Arcane version of a fighter.
Most of the...
