    Warlords Heal?

Shouldn't that be Bulwark for Avoidance of Death or Additional Similar Situations? As for cure spells also healing morale, I would say that seeing your cleric tend to your wounds by calling on divine power & channeling the energies into you would have a morale-boosting effect.

40 year old man wants to join my game

Exactly. The age difference is far the lesser cultural gap between myself & the twenty-odds in my new group (stuck being the token gay again *sigh*). From Monty Python to OotS, most of the jokes have referenced material with which I was already familiar, & the couple that haven't simply added...

40 year old man wants to join my game

Heh, I recently formed a new group, & everyone who replied was signficiantly younger (though all adults) - mostly 19-24, one guy early 30's, & me... um. Nice weather, huh? :p No one had a weird vibe when we did the 'safety check' at a public cafe (glad to see you did that), so we've started...

    adventure idea: sunken tower

What about reversing things a bit, such that it's on the night of the new moon (& thus lowest tide) when the uppermost level of the tower is exposed & accessible to the surface? This could fit in well with the time interval - no regular low tide will do, it has to be an extremely low tide to...

    Warlord or Soldier?

A soldier is part of an army. A warlord could command a large army or just a small raiding band - such as a typical adventuring party. Warlord.

    31 Flavors of Warlock

This really makes me think of the Summer Knight from the Dresden Files, particularly for a character multiclassed with some sort of defender. Hmmm, really liking this idea.

An alternate version of half-orc reproduction

Hmmm, what about elves as humans of the elite class of an ancient human culture who received (magical or technological, depending on the setting) genetic manipulation for greater beauty & longevity, humans as the middle class who could only afford enough treatment to fend off the effects of a...

Two Weeks and Counting -- November 2nd!

Ditto - & I am definitely looking forward to all the cool new gizmos that'll come with an updated site. :)

Two Weeks and Counting -- November 2nd!

You know, I know absolutely nothing about the volume of work involved in putting together a new site. I didn't suggest it would be easy, nor did I suggest that we were entitled to it - I merely offered an opinion in a nonconfrontive manner. For this I receive a threat of a ban - & a threat...

Another voice for maintaining the dark colors in 4EN.

The 8 classes in the PHB...

I'm hoping that the 'mystery character' is either mysterious by virtue of being a bard (IIRC there was an indication after the 'eight races in PHB' post that this might not be quite that definite after all) or that it's a changeling.

D&D 4E What 4E class do you most want to try out?

I voted rogue (I almost always play roguish types), but I'd really like to try warlock & warlord, too. I'll be interested in seeing how combinations of these would work for multiclassing.

WotC_Dave: You will be able to make monsters...weaker...

I really do not like the falling building poster. Even with the mention of the WWII poster which inspired it, the visual (& the Eberron event on which it's based) hits way too close to 9/11 memories for me.

Scott Rouse blog - Rogue ability

In order to Tango, you have to ready an action to assist another party member in the move... since, you know, it takes two. *ducks*

What if Japan was a D&D nation?

I voted Kalashtar as this allows an even greater cultural divide with the introduction of a 'different magic' (i.e. psionics). I would, however, change the appearance so that they are hobgoblins with the stats of Kalashtar.

    Design & Development: The Warlock

Haven't heard of conscription? By this absolutist logic, Anne Frank's love interest Peter (I forget his last name) would have turned EVIL the minute he was forced to the Russian Front in WWII - a bizarre conclusion which I in no way expect that you would support, but mention as a friendly...

    Design & Development: The Warlock

Just like a cleric of Heironeous gets 'campaign contributions' (in the form of spells) from extra-planar entities (Heironeous & his celestial host) for killing evil people?

    Design & Development: The Warlock

Patent assumption. They are never said to be evil, & there is at least one (possibly two) pact mentioned that has nothing inherently evil (much less Evil) about it. Um, I think the mention of feral & shadow actually qualifies as evidence at least as much as anything you're building your...

    Design & Development: The Warlock

Man, if killing in D&D is evil I really wonder what your campaigns look like - which isn't to say I think it couldn't be fun (lots of subterfuge & diplocmacy, perhaps?), just that it sounds very different from classic D&D (kill the bad guys & take their stuff - but if killing=EVIL then that's...
