D&D 5E (2024) Wrapping up first 2-20 2024 campaign this week, some of my thoughts

Well this adventure was not using new encounter design, was giving players near any magic item they wanted, and was more players than the adventure assumed. It just doesn’t strike me as a good example of a typical campaign.

How the Monsters Have Changed in the 2025 Monster Manual: Arcanaloth

I would use an Ultroloth in that case. They already have Wall of Fire and they can teleport people they hit a short distance.

D&D 5E (2014) Question for folks who use D&D Beyond: How well does it work with the new rules?

You don’t need the Encounter Builder on Maps anymore. You can drop a monster token and add it to a tracker now in Maps.

Once you start the session there is a link you can give them. They can also go there by going to the campaign tab.

D&D 5E (2014) Question for folks who use D&D Beyond: How well does it work with the new rules?

My primary use is the Encounter Builder as it makes running and tracking monsters much easier. The Players depend, but it mostly helps them and things go pretty quick.

They deal a fair amount of damage at a range as well.

D&D 5E (2024) Wrapping up first 2-20 2024 campaign this week, some of my thoughts

For a High Difficulty Level 20 Encounter I can do some pretty crazy stuff with 5 PCs. Like I could bring in 3 Pit Fiends and 3 Ice Devils.

1 shot items are included in the DMG tracker too. So a fair number of slots can be potions and scrolls.

Well to be exact Mystral killed herself.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

I am ok with it mostly, but I would have preferred Dragons, Demons, Devils, and Yugoloths be grouped or at least in the group entry at the appendix have an explanation about them.

How the Monsters Have Changed in the 2025 Monster Manual: Arcanaloth

It has some useful in its spells, like it kept Mind Blank, and the Banish and Bursts and teleports make it quite formidable. Looking forward to using it in a few weeks, though I don’t know if it will result in combat.

It’s from the DMG and is for the whole party.

D&D 5E (2024) Wrapping up first 2-20 2024 campaign this week, some of my thoughts

Why should it be legendary, it’s no different than a Flame Tongue adding 2d6 fire damage and it’s also rare.

D&D 5E (2024) Wrapping up first 2-20 2024 campaign this week, some of my thoughts

Ehh from looking I don’t really agree. Plus your high amount of magic gear, that didn’t even follow the correct rarities. Like the vicious weapon being rare not uncommon. Also for people talking about the DMG here is the recommended max amount of magic items

D&D 5E (2024) Is anyone at WOTC paying attention to what they print any more?

Just a slight thing. I don’t think tiny errors like that matter much.
