    D&D 5E (2014) Best Gish

You cannot rage in heavy armor IIRC. AC15 is a little low.

    Caster feats

In a way, tough and moderately armored are caster feat. Not the best, but sometimes what you need is outside the magic realm. Stealing from another caster class is the best kind of bonus: - somehow getting access to magical secrets, domain/circles spells, tomelock book. - some martial adept...

D&D 5E (2014) Should each class get its own version of expertise?

Just adapt skilled to allow a single boost to expertise and 2 proficiencies.

    D&D 5E (2014) Two Weapon Fighting

You should have compared it to greatsword. I think you'd get the same damage every time. Of course, that level of damage is a very bad idea: - the god-stat Dex does as much damage as Str (before feats and GWM) - all damage riders are doubled (improved smite, hex, et al.)

This is a "ask your DM" issue.

    D&D 5E (2014) Arcane Trickster + Green-Flame Blade = Sneak Attack dealing fire damage?

Note that you cannot use TWF with GFB since you aren't using the attack action. That means you don't get a second chance of landing you SA. I've always assumed stat mod damage and GWM/SS used the same type as the weapon but I cannot find where it is explicitely stated. I'd assume SA uses the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warcaster and Eldritch Blast

Nice, I didn't think of the implication for OA. Thanks for the correction.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warcaster and Eldritch Blast

Since you'd rather use the cast a spell action for BB than a basic attack action, TWF doesn't come in. As for the wand bonus, BB/shillelagh does not use your spell attack roll. Whether it's Str, Dex, Wis or Cha, it still uses your melee attack roll.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warcaster and Eldritch Blast

Nope. "must target only that creature." If your DM interprets this as "can" rather than "will", you might not even be able to use EB for OA. Shocking grasp is not much better than just disengage. GFB might not be allowed for OA because of the 2 targets interpretation. Shillelagh/BB is the best...

    Fighter/Rogue/Barb?

Whereas mountain dwarf could give you 18 14 18 8 10 8 with that level 4 ASI. Unarmored defense does not work well for barbarian: Dex14 Con20 is no better than a non-magical half-plate.

Good Multiclass Options for Arcana Cleric?

Unless you got lucky with your stat rolls, you need a Wis caster or Dex class. - Druid is out because of metal armor. Nature and arcane don't mix well anyway. - Fighter for action surge and defense style. Potent spellcasting doesn't work for martial. Maybe EK for utilities. - Monk is out...

    D&D 5E (2014) Sentinel+Polearm Master+Quarterstaff+Lance+Mount?

Ah, ok. On your turn it works great. If you allow PAM's OA with the lance, all other attackers can still reach range 5'. And even then the stopped attacker will move in next round. So it's either lance and disengage, or stay and drop lance to grab staff.

    D&D 5E (2014) Sentinel+Polearm Master+Quarterstaff+Lance+Mount?

None of that works: - you get a single reaction per round, - OA is a single attack, - bonus action is on your turn only.

Please Help a 1st-timer Build a Grappler for AL

No. It means that since your story origin is EE, you can only get non-EE stuff through play.

Seeking Input on Eldritch Knight Build

I usually find warcaster is overplayed, but yeah this is a must. Str16 ASI also gives you +2 AC (access to full plate), so it comes to concentration + OA BB vs +1TH/damage.

    D&D 5E (2014) Fighter/cleric multi-classing-where to go?

Yes, this is why I was thinking you'd better get cleric 3 and hold person before boosting Wis. You need cleric 1 to cast guiding bolt and cleric 2 allows you to cast guiding bolt a 3rd time, that extra time is more important than the +1 DC. Same thing for cleric 3 and its 4th level 1 slot.

Seeking Input on Eldritch Knight Build

You realize Str16 would do better than shillelagh? Quarterstaff is versatile and does 1d8 when used 2-handed. No gain for magic initiate. Str16 would result in +1 hit and +1 damage. Gains for Str ASI. In case you are confused: "Two-Handed (p. 147). This propertyis relevant only when you...

    D&D 5E (2014) Builds for new players

Melee: - Paladin and monk are easy. - Barbarian has the rage mechanics and rogue need twf / SA, so harder. Casters: - Warlock is just an arcane archer. - Cleric is easy with an out-of-combat domain (knowledge, life or nature). - Wizard spellbook and sorcerer metamagic makes it harder. - Bard...

    D&D 5E (2014) Bard/Cleric Build Question/Opinion

    Not exactly. At level 5, when your bard 4 ASI becomes available: - Con12 has 8+1 + 4*(5+1) = 33hp - Con15 has 8+2 + 4*(5+2) = 38hp - Con16 has 8+3 + 4*(5+3) = 43hp At the moment you take resilient(Con) and your Con reaches 16, you get 5 extra hp (p177 if you wonder). You worked for it, glad to...
