Sword World came later. Lodoss started like Dragonlance, sessions logs from actually playing D&D, published in a magazine. Later they came out with Lodoss Companion, which was just a Lodoss rpg, and now it seems to be part of Sword World.

Because there is no such rule. It's three death saves before a rest, not before an extended rest. Short rests also reset it.

Someone mentioned mine already, but Owlbears. I dunno why, they're pretty silly. A bear with the head of an owl? And I've never had someone use owlbears (found some in NWN once, though), but I like them anyway. Also dragons, because... dragons. It sorta explains itself.

So the fact the quote is misattributed and out of context just doesn't matter as long as you can stretch it to argue about something? Because I see very little discussion about what was actually said in the article, in relation to 4E or otherwise.

Seriously? No offense, but you might want to try reading the article the quote came from before you try talk about it. The quote in question is NOT ABOUT 4E. As I pointed out ALREADY, back on like page seven.

It took me until now to realize it, but I just finally followed the link the OP posted. That quote from David Noonan is from a 2007 article about the Monster Manual... V.

I think that's an exception rather than a rule. Compared to when I was young (wait, when did I get old?), there's a lot more TV shows that take up a hour timeslot rather than a 30 minute one. In fact, almost everything I watch on TV these days falls under that... Bones, House, Fringe, Law and...

Man, you guys are fast to be coming up with backgrounds already. I don't think I can manage it that quickly, especially without more information than the primer gave us.
