D&D 5E (2014) Damage on a Miss: Because otherwise Armour Class makes no sense

The poison part isn't confusing at all IMO. If the poison only applies on a hit, then Damage on a Miss wouldn't apply it. Maybe it's because you didn't get quite a good enough hit to break the skin, maybe your attack smacked against his armor, maybe he blocked it with his shield, etc.

    D&D 4E 4e/13thA immersion question and 5e/13thA DoaM question

I equate your use of DS with things you don't like because that's exactly how you use it. Your use of it never has consistent logic when you claim things like DoaM are DS but HP in general and levels aren't. *awaits the next angry PM flood*

+1 Otherwise you get into oddities like Plate Armor making it easier for you to dodge attacks.

D&D 5E (2014) Damage on a Miss: Because otherwise Armour Class makes no sense

Arguable. AC still made sense a lot of times, even when DoaM isn't in play. Honestly, AC can mean a lot of things due to it's abstract nature. When you fail to roll against AC, it could mean any number of things; maybe you whiffed completely, maybe you slipped and didn't get a good footing to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Replacing Damage-On-A-Miss

That's always been one of the weird ironies of D&D. Low level is a difficult as hell time with TPKs around every corner and requires either heavy game mastery or a bidner full of back-up PCs to get by, while high-level D&D(3.x anyways, I have no experience with pre-3.x) is easy as pie as long as...

    D&D 4E 4e/13thA immersion question and 5e/13thA DoaM question

Alexandrian And there goes my interest. And my problem with Emerikol's use of it is, like herrozerro said, he uses it as a mark of shame for things Damage on a Miss, but then bends over backwards to insist that things like levels and hit points aren't dissociative in the slightest, making his...

Speaking of dissociative, you ever going to actually define that term at some point?

Yes it was actually. Houseruling that casting Wishes not be an immediate task despite falling into the requirements for one is a houserule. And because if we start assuming houserules in play, then there can't be any discussion because any problem with any part of the game can be handwaved away...

I pretty explicitly stated the point of what I was doing; that is, get infinite Wishes with using very few spell slots. Step 1: Cast gate, gate in an Efreeti. Step 2: Use the first two Wishes however I want. Step 3: Wish for a Candle of Invocation. Step 4: Occasionally use 2, or all 3, Wishes...

Or..you know, a caster level of 17, since that's when you can first cast Gate, and then you can just get a bunch of Candles of Invocation from that. And by then, an immediate task would be something that could be accomplished in 17 rounds, more than long enough to grant three wishes, each of...
