    FFG staff openings

I actually do have a family, but my S.O. works in the medical field and makes great money (I'm a stay at home dad), though I get your point. I used to be the main breadwinner, and it's hard. The pay cut for writing was pretty rough at first (down to "working poor" from as much as $1,000 a week...

    FFG staff openings

$20,000 is livable, in my circumstances. I applied. Of course it helps that my best friend just moved back to that area.

WTF is "cold iron", and why's it so special?

This is my understanding as well. D&D canon says fey are somehow 'especially natural', but all of the early source research I've done portrays them as otherworldly. Using earlier sources, it makes perfect sense that cold iron would harm fey. What's more natural than the mineral at the heart of...

Defeated by puzzle - campaign over: Here is the offending puzzle!

Roman, what was the configuration of the room that you were in?

Defeated by puzzle - campaign over: Here is the offending puzzle!

You and D+1 have blinded me with science. :D I voted impossible, because my hunch is that the GM didn't have a solution and the whole thing was a snipe hunt to buy time ... but I'm probably wrong. I'm probably unfairly projecting the tactics of a certain bad GM I know onto this guy.

    Real Undead?

Yeah, it's a spoof. Check the date of the article as well. Would have been cool in a morbid way though. :)

Defeated by puzzle - campaign over: Here is the offending puzzle!

Looks like a map to me. Triangles would be mountains, dashes would be forest, and circles would be water (or dashes water and circles forest??). If you have a map handy, and it or part of it matches, then this is just a lame puzzle, with potential for an interesting twist. If not, then I totally...

    Wish

In a 25th level epic campaign I played in, I had a sorcerer who used wish and limited wish for just about everything other than combat (mainly to reproduce other spells). That was a lot of fun, and the moment that I came to understand the joy of munching out once in a while. Prior to that...

    The "Gandalf" in your campaign

Whoever plays the wizard/sorcerer in my campaign gets to be 'Gandalf.'

Does it really matter how fast your characters level up?

Dude. You need to join the Morningstar playtest. See my sig for a link. That is all. :D Edit: Less 'enthusiastic' translation of the above: Mayhap, kind sir, you would find interest in the Morningstar playtest that is occuring verily as we speak. Should you find it worth your while to travel to...

New Releases: Complete Guide to Fey and Dungeon Crawl Classics #1: Idylls 3.5 Edition

Hey Banshee, thanks for picking up the book. I’m hurtling towards a deadline, so I might give short answers but I’ll definitely try to make sure I get all of your questions. They use the Fey spells master list and can choose freely as needed. They are not limited to a list beyond that. The Fey...

Any other products out there using the Epic D&D rules?

I too am working on this. :D The Morningstar setting is getting its due. It's going to be a while though.

    Well, I picked up DragonMech

    Giants of North America

I was lucky enough to be able to find the attached picture of the makiawisug... They're kind of gnome-like here; they have powers over the earth (they hoard crystals like quartz), healing, and plants and are often found with whipporwhills, who their speech mimics.

    Giants of North America

Interesting side note: The Mohegan (Not to be confused with Mohican) and Wampanoag tribes have a father deity named Moshup, a giant who is married to Granny Squannit, the "queen" of the Makiawisug (little people- nearly identical to the fey in every respect, including requiring tributes of...
