    D&D 5E (2014) Running D&D 5e for Levels 10+

Ability to min-max and desire to do so are separate things. Also; If you always see high CR monsters get shredded by high level adventurers you need to reconsider your GMs ability to play the monsters.

    D&D 5E (2014) Running D&D 5e for Levels 10+

Have to disagree, have taken the advice to heart and am now applying it to all aspects of my life, I now no longer look to prevent getting into problematic situations and when I find myself in one I simply "Expect more from designers" until everything is resolved. Engine won't start because it's...

    D&D 5E (2014) I don't care anymore! The Magic shope is OPEN!

My 5e books don't hand out any gold :( There are some optional charts and stuff for treasure that I can use but left to their own devices the books just sit there.

    D&D 5E (2014) Running D&D 5e for Levels 10+

Lol, that will help them with the game they want to run. Just sit back and "expect more from designers" and the game will magically morph to their needs, much better than playing the game as intended and actually tailoring it to the table.

    D&D 5E (2014) I don't care anymore! The Magic shope is OPEN!

One thing that often gets overlooked though, is that it really shouldn't take magic items for PCs to be able to spend money to help them accomplish their goals, whether combat, social, whatever but a lot of games are run like that. It's funny because in past editions (I'm sure it still happens)...

    D&D 5E (2014) Running D&D 5e for Levels 10+

Personally, I think 5 PCs is about the max for ease of GMing at any level. I would MUCH rather run for 5 lvl10 than 6-7 lvl8 but I don't find challenging PCs to be all that... challenging, it's just that things can get bogged down. Not a fan of starting at high level either though.

D&D 5E (2014) How do they generate revenue?

It's pretty crazy that the last report showed the #4 best selling roleplaying game was actually a 3pp for 5e (AIME).

D&D 5E (2014) Wildshape check: am I doing it right?

If you still want clarification and find audio useful there was a pretty in depth official podcast on the subject. http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/chris-avellone-and-philip-daigle-planescape-torment-enhanced-edition

Over Half Of New D&D Players Got Into Game From Watching Online Play

D&D seems to have really led the way on this. There have been a couple RPG publishers on "Tabletop", but that isn't really a LP and this is years after they had the host on AI. I imagine it's much harder for less known systems to get people to do LPs, especially "taste makers" :hmm: but I...

Over Half Of New D&D Players Got Into Game From Watching Online Play

What!?! Maybe I will actually get into it then, thanks for the tip. I know people like the fact that they were a group long before the LP but it seems to make it harder for me to get into it. Critical Hit started almost from scratch, which I found interesting. Oh, and recently Wotc has started...

D&D 5E (2014) How do they generate revenue?

According to a Verge article 2016 was the most profitable year ever for Wotc D&D and 2017 is looking to surpass. Expanding playerbase, adoption of new media, event based release cycle, curated release schedule with each book selling many copies and multiple print runs...

Over Half Of New D&D Players Got Into Game From Watching Online Play

I think it's a interesting quirk of our minds that people often think "Why are people watching D&D when they could be playing?" as if that were the trade-off when more likely it is; Why are people watching D&D when they could be: watching TV/Youtube, watching people play videogames, watching...

Over Half Of New D&D Players Got Into Game From Watching Online Play

YES! This is the first D&D liveplay to keep my attention (maybe it was AI, can't remember for sure), it made me try harder to get 4e to work for us, which ultimately was a failed endeavour but that's besides the point. Unfortunately their 5e trial was kind of embarrassing to all involved but...

    D&D 5E (2014) They Broke Arcane Archer!!!

In absence of pencil; moisten with tears and claw away ink with fingernails until the bad feelings begin to fade, taking with them a piece of the stain on the TTRPG hobby.

    D&D 5E (2014) They Broke Arcane Archer!!!

Thank you so much for your sympathy, it was a traumatic experience and it might not even be over yet. First I had to get a pencil, then I drew a line through "magic". ;)

The State of D&D: Products, Psionics, Settings, & More

Not really, "D&D" has never printed any novels. What "greedy corporate weasels" are you talking about though? Mearls? Or do you think it goes up to Chris Cocks or even Goldner, it is actual people making these decisions you know (or at least the actual decisions as opposed to this "butchering...

    D&D 5E (2014) Question about feats in 5e.

Beyond belief? Well I guess you're right because I don't believe that. We mostly play without them, whether they are allowed or not, but I don't think they are terrible.

    D&D 5E (2014) Should D&D go away from ASIs?

Well, one of the biggest and most diverse studies that touches on the issue comes to mind, it's about as close as I have seen to an open and "scientific" one; http://slyflourish.com/2016_dm_survey_results.html

    D&D 5E (2014) Should D&D go away from ASIs?

Really? All the info I have seen and what I've heard from the D&D team is that more people play in a homebrew setting than any official one. Or at least that homebrew setting are far from "distant outliers".
