    Dragon's Tail Cut?

Neat. Naming conventions aside, I was still iffy about the prospect of fighter "powers". Thanks to Baduin's post, I am now sold.

    How many are playing SAGA?

The Skill Issue Would it make things more palatable to the GM if skill focus was given a pre-req of level 6 or so? A 1st level jedi with a Cha of 14 and trained in UtF would start with +7 instead of +12. That's still a tad better than the D&D style skill points, in which case it would be +6...

    New Design: Wizards...

I suspect that clerics will get a similar rules treatment with their holy symbols? Hmmm. Pretty neat.

    Custom One-Off Miniatures

I first heard about these gizmos a year ago. Naturally, my first thought went to printing out a mini for my dual-wielding orc ranger. :D

Does Having 3 Core Books Hurt The Game?

I do agree that as far as games and hobbies go, RPGs are more impenetrable than most by their very nature. However, there are many activities that require a more experienced person to show you the ropes. Music and sports come to mind. Someone learning the guitar needs a guitar of course, then...

    D&D 4E 4e - More monsters per encounter?

Thats exactly how it works. A CL 1 enemy is a challenge for a single 1st level character, not for a party of 4. The CL is more dynamic, too. If the enemy made good use of cover or other tactic that made things more difficult for the heroes, the rules suggest bumping it up a point.

    D&D 4E 4e and Video Games

With more refined rules, fighter maneuvers, a step away from vancian magic, and 30 levels of experience, I see 4e as the friendliest version yet for a computer game conversion. Perhaps D&D Online will get a facelift as well, and turn into an MMO I'd actually want to play. :uhoh:

I got Monte Cook's World of Darkness

Too bad they used the overwrought d20 Modern skills. I've been spoiled by Star Wars SAGA. Still, I would love to try this game, and I've never really been exposed to WoD before, save for the Vampire the Masquarade:Bloodlines computer game. I'm chomping at the bit to play a werewolf. :)

Tome of Battle - spells for fighters? How does that work?

Me too. However, one of their mantras for 4e is "easier, faster, better." Will combat still bog down if all the melee guys are shuffling through their notes just like the spell slingers? Does this just trade one complexity for another?

    PHB, MM, DMG covers

I know they're trying to catch new players with the latest edition, but don't you think parents will feel a bit reluctant to buy these books for their kids in the...um...bible belt? The PHB and MM could almost be the Book of Vile Darkness is my only point.

D&D 4E 4E's announcement left you in what condition? ;)

Panicked. When I read the news, I dropped my beer and ran through the house in random directions screaming like a small female child until I wound up in the basement, behind the hot water heater, cowering. JK. Can't wait for 4e. :)

D&D 3.x 3.5 is the REAL reason everyone is angry

Not everyone. :) I, for one, think D&D should have been on its 6th edition by now.

D&D 4E What Changes Do You Hope They Make To The 4E Rules?

Sure it does, if the equipment and magic items are going to have prices listed.

D&D 4E What Changes Do You Hope They Make To The 4E Rules?

I hope there will be..... ... a new magic system entirely. Backwards compatability would be an issue, but I'm over it already. I am sick to death of the quasi-vancian system, and for anything using the x/day mechanic for that matter. Consolidated skills. An end to iterative attacks...

D&D 4E What would you want to see in 4E?

I'd like to see the "faster, better, more refined" design philosophy of SAGA to go into 4e, and based on the enthusiasm for this idea, I think we'll get our way. It would make the game less daunting for new players, bring back some of the ones we've lost, and make it easier to write game prep...

    Reaper's Legendary Encounters, August 6th

I'll be picking up a bunch of these. I don't really need any more skellies or orcs, but I do want to support the company in this venture. What I'd love to see is dungeon dressing- furniture, chests, etc. And, for the love of Pelor, mounted figures! Reaper could make a mint on horses and...

    Discussion of Art in D&D

My pet peeve about 3e art is that it just looks too "modern" to me. I won't demand that the D&D world adhere strictly to 15th century medieval Europe, but I prefer a more "pre-industrial" look at least. Skin-tight leather with buckles and modern hair styles evoke Spycraft more than D&D...

    Vancian Magic, I love it.

I would love Vancian magic if I was playing the Dying Earth Role Playing Game. Otherwise, I find it quite yucky.

Lost 2/23/07 Season Finale w/ spoilers

They must be former Dharma, just like Mikhail and Ben. I figure whoever they couldn't "convert" got gassed in the end.
