I have to say, I really really enjoyed the episode. I've never cheered and screamed more at a TV show. Definitely more bang to it than the lackluster 'Heroes' finale. The dynamite gets shot, 'others' flying in all directions: "YYYEAAHH!!!!" JAck pummeling the living crap out of Ben...

Maybe there will be a "combat bonus" in 4e? Maybe mages would only get an attack bonus = half their level and a dmg bonus = 1/4 level?

I like the new defense method, but I do agree that they would need to tweak armor somehow if it were used in 4e. I like damage thresholds and conditions. I like the lack of iterative attacks, but I wonder how they'll handle monsters with more than one attack? Also, not sure about increasing...

Wow! They read my mind. I've always wanted to combine Listen, Spot, Search, and Sense Motive, but my friends thought me mad. MAD, I TELL YOU. :mad: :confused: :mad: And three tiers of expertise is enough for me, at least for the fast-paced universe of Star Wars.

I'm fond of the Warlock mechanics and the True20 skill-based system. I'd like spell slots and the x-per-day mechanic to finally go away. One man's opinion, of course.

My friend just sent an email that he bought a copy of "Prophecies". So, looks like we've taken the leap. Since it wasn't expensive, I figure we'll get our money's worth, even if we end up chucking it over our shoulders after 3 weeks. Thanks for the help, guys ;)

yeah, I read about that in my most recent PC Gamer. An add-on around christmas, and Guild Wars 2 sometime late in 2008. So I guess, if you don't want to be overwhelmed with skills and classes, Prophecies is the way to go?

Heh. I seem to recall that D&D 3.5 was announced after SW Revised was released. It gave me the impression at the time that SW Revised was partially a test to see how receptive gamers were to the idea of a new edition of D&D. I'm getting that impression now, and I'm excited, quite honestly. :)...

Hey, folks. An old friend of mine and I have decided to keep in touch by playing an MMO together. We've chosen Guild Wars for several reasons: there is no monthly fee, it seems friendly to casual players (we only plan on playing maybe once a week), you can have computer controlled "red-shirts"...

I love it too. Nice, elegant warrior-mage concept without multiclassing and prestige classes. I still like it better than the duskblade. Also using item familiars (same character). A tad broken, IMO.

Quick and Dirty: ban all arcane magic and casters. Divine classes only. Conceptually, the druid just became your new "wizard". Magic is still powerful but less flashy.

A bugbear has a LA +1. He get +4 Str, +2 dex, +2 Con, -2 Cha, 60' darkvision, +3 natural armor, and +4 move silently. He also starts with 3 "bugbear" levels, making an off-the-shelf bugbear an ECL of 4. Say I wanted to let a player replace these humanoid levels with 3 regular core class...

I stay away from BAttlefield 2 these days, since I'm pretty sick of being blown to tiny bits repeatedly by flying aces with 50 to 1 kill ratios. Now Battlefield 2142, there isn't a single map I don't like. What's the "street date" for Northern Strike?

This is excellent advice. Our DM is starting to burn out,and the enthusiasm at the table has been waning for months. So, I've picked up a copy of Mutants and Masterminds, and I plan on running it for a little while. Traveling down a different path is the best way to restore the excitement...
