    Rate Narnia (spoiler-free thread)

Actually my main gripe about the movie is that the allegory was watered down a bit much. They really needed to hit you over the head with it. For the record, I'm not overly religious and I don't go to church. But by toning down, they stripped away some of the drama and power of a few key scenes...

    Got Hobbits?

BroccoliRage, do you know about Castles and Crusades? Its a very 1st Edition-esque RPG that incorporates many of the more intuitive concepts from the D20 system. Might be right up your alley.

Defender of the Crown free Flash version.

So whats your secret? How does one actually win a joust?

Defender of the Crown free Flash version.

I hate this damn game. I couldn't win at it when I was 14, and I can't win at it now. Too frickin hard. Or maybe its just me.

Try mine. They're based on the sheets created by the EN member who's name escapes me as well. Thanks to him, regardless.

    New Superman Returns Pics!

350+? That seems a tad high, considering King Kong is now considered the most expensive film ever made, and that just cleared 200 mil. Or were you joking?

If our Hobby has a problem, it is the difficulty of interpersonal communcation.

The time required to invest in the game is a problem yes, but many people seem to have no problem spending hours playing World of Warcraft or fishing, as you say. Its also the logistical problem of getting 5 busy people together every week and learning several books of rules. People not only...

Rate Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God (DVD Release Status: In Flux)

That might be your personal preference in gaming or literature, but I don't think it would work for a TV series. Most people tune in to a show to see how things are panning out with characters they know and enjoy. Not to say that there was never a successful anthology series, but most TV shows...

    Flip mats versus Tact Tiles

Those things will go through the table, nevermind the tiles. Eek!

    Flip mats versus Tact Tiles

I like my tact-tiles too, but I'll chime in with a few cons as well: I agree they're a bit heavy. Grid lines are too thick, IMO I don't recommend rolling dice on them. :uhoh: And all my friends....keep...doing it....

Dungeons & Dragons: 2. Premiering on the Sci Fi Channel on October 8th.

Interesting idea, but I would start to feel like I'm watching a blatant 90 min. commercial for WotC, which I find kind of tacky. I'm sure this movie will drum up some business, but must we head into YuGiOh territory?

Attacks of Opportunity are ruining D&D!!

This is all my fault. Attack of Opportunity is my bastard love-child.

D&D 4E What would you want to see in 4e?

Ditto. And I'd like to see a skill-based spell system rather than slot/vancian or point-based.

The rogue was perfectly fine with it. Especially since he was an NPC run by me. ;)

House Rules You Don't Realize You Have

It started out as forgetfulness, then laziness, and now its a house rule- combatants are not flat-footed on the first round.
