    3.0 Era Polyhedron

I liked very little of the Poly content. When we got a d20 Scoobie Doo (whatever it was called) instead of the complete content of the featured D&D adventure... and then they charged extra in order to download that content? I unsubbed. Too bad, because Dungeon turned around soon after.

Planning to run Age of Worms AP - Anything I should know about before I start?

I had the most fun with A Gathering of Winds (so well designed, it's DM bliss), the players seem to have enjoyed Fountain of Dreams the most. The biggest problems I've had: Three Faces of Evil - There's an elevator that can fall and cause massive damage to the occupants, but as written it...

What was the reason for the Demon/Devil split?

The majority of demons presented in Eldritch Wizardry seem like original creations, inspired by S&S stories. AFAIK they were mostly created by Blume. The Abyss, The Hells (and thus the need for monsters to populate it) etc., probably came out of Gygax's early Dragon articles on the planes and...

WotC Seeks Unity with a New Edition

Eh? TSR continued publishing AD&D 1E articles in Dragon magazine for at least a year, printing 1E PHBs for several years and including "how to use this with 1st edition" notes in many early 2nd edition products. WotC still provides FAQs, errata, adventures and hundreds of other web articles...

WotC Seeks Unity with a New Edition

Exactly. If 5E turns out (thinking of a way to say this nicely) performing in a similar manner to 4E, which of the people in charge will be here in four years saying the equivalent of: (Which, BTW, would be an excellent sig if I was type who like tweaking noses with sigs).

WotC Seeks Unity with a New Edition

Wonder how open the playtest will be? Maybe it will be possible to use the OGL to retroclone a D&D edition before it's even published!

    What the HEck?

It's just not right to publish a work without the permission of the author or authors. Next thing you know, someone will be trying to cash in by publishing books of message-board quotes.

    Should FLGS have Edition Bias?

Would it be okay to push D&D on a customer without mentioning Pathfinder? Shadowrun? Call of Cthulhu? Burning Wheel? Fiasco? Maybe there should be a checklist... It sounds like the employee pushed a product based on customer-stated preferences. They're familiar with 3.5, sell them something...

    Creatures similar to a Cockatrice?

If you don't want to do the advancing yourself, the Lazy GM series has several campaigns' worth of advanced and templated creatures, with no frills or heavy-ink borders. Dungeon Beasts in particular has advanced Cockatrices.

    Heroics vs. Keen Edge

With Heroics, the subject needs to meet the prerequisites of the feat. Other than that, Heroics is better.

D&D 3.x [3.5] Summon Treasure IV and III

The main issue is the assumption that a summoned creature must possess treasure. The SRD doesn't have the context required, you'll need to read the DMG. Reading the SRD you might assume some robot-like administrator of the game is required to create or randomly roll standard treasure for any...

    BECMI and Campaign Pacing

Hmm. Sounds like it's just pacing then. Is the 50-100xp bonus split amongst the players? IME, giving 10-20% of all xp as bonuses works fine and doesn't unbalance things. That reminds me: with the later AD&D modules on your list you may want to increase the various hordes of gold to cover some...
