D&D 5E (2024) WotC Unveils Dragon Delves' Eclectic Art Styles

Others may have chimed in, but I thought the same thing on first glance. Had to open it up and then zoom in. And you know what? In my head-canon, there's a high-priestess of Bahamut standing there just freaking taking that blast...

How many years does it take for an RPG to become nostalgic, for you?

I am a bit nostalgic for that time when I had "unlimited" time to enjoy reading my books and then spending all day Saturday deep into the night playing. Also I am nostalgic for Traveller Little Black Books being $3.50, and my 1978 Player's Hand book costing $12 or whatever.

How many years does it take for an RPG to become nostalgic, for you?

I am not nostalgic for the games themselves; but for the experiences, friends, and time at the table - which the games were a vehicle to facilitate.

Compare The Market's Tabletop Gaming Survey

Well right there shows the entire flaw in this survey. You and I don't have a definition for what "collecting"is; but no doubt neither of us matches with what the survey creators meant; and then 1000+ people took the survey in each country, and who knows how many definitions there were...

What are you reading in 2025?

(I like a lot of those books - it's great that there are books from other voices also now on the shelves). And I will note that a lot of older books have been updated to have the "new-fangled" trade dress. Wheel of Time for example.

Compare The Market's Tabletop Gaming Survey

Huh, odd. My Gm collects minis to use in our D&D game; one of our players is a huge MtG collector (odd that MtG is not included in this survey - maybe it was another question on there); in another game two of our players is a couple who collect board games; and a third has a lot of RPGs too, but...

What are you reading in 2025?

Yup! Literally a 15 minute drive from my house. However I was 11 when it happened, so I don't recall reading much more than the comics and occasionally the sports sections of the Globe.

What are you reading in 2025?

In 1975, I moved from California to a town a couple towns over from Dover MA. I never even heard of this Dover Demon!

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

I think you mean either "reduces the per-unit profit" or "increases the per-unit cost" here? I always wondered about crowdfunds that didn't charge for shipping at the end. It was more common back in the day; less common now. Even before these most recent tariffs, shipping costs had been...

What are you reading in 2025?

Ada Palmer fans, apparently there is a new non-fiction book - Inventing the Rennaissance. Interesting "Big Idea" on Scalzi's blog today. https://whatever.scalzi.com/2025/04/02/the-big-idea-ada-palmer/

I wonder how much of that old art they own the rights to, and how much they'd have to renegotiate?

What are you reading in 2025?

My buddy is all about DCC, so I kind of feel like I have to read at least book 1. Red Rising was great. Don't want to spoil any more of it, so come back when you are done with at least first trilogy (I read up to what was released at that point, and then never got back to it. Happened with the...

Paksworld RPG Based On Elizabeth Moon's Novels

I tried to find a primary source for this in Britannia Games web site, and wow it's kind of a piece of junk. But then again, if you go to the link in the OP for more info on Paks books, you are taken to a website straight out of 1999. So maybe Elizabeth Moon has a soft spot in her heart for...

I just bought this. Perfect for my indie RPG game group that rotates 1-3shot games every first Sunday. I'm up in May, it'll be perfect. https://thoughtcrimegames.itch.io/wildfire
