I'm here because it's one of the funniest forums on the internet. Plus, I get a little bit of useful information regarding 4e, so it's all good. :)

Nope, no question from me. It all comes down to Pros vs. Cons vs. SWSE (or whatever I'm playing in June). My groups' opinions only matter insofar as they are welcome to play in the game I want to run or not play (i.e. I choose the system, not them).

As I mentioned on the other two recent threads related to this topic, if the Pros outweigh the Cons AND I'm not still running SWSE games, I will most like switch. The Pros currently outweigh the Cons, but I am running SWSE, so at the moment I am most likely a no-go for 4e.

There are only two reasons, at the moment, that I would not switch: 1. The Cons outweigh the Pros (currently, on my scoresheet, the Pros are in the lead). 2. I'm still running enjoyable SWSE games, in which case I wouldn't need 4e.

I liked Unearthed Arcana. :) I would rather have standard stuff in the core books and extraneous stuff in splat books that I am under no obligation to purchase.

My main reason to switch would be that the Pros outweigh the Cons. If the Pros continue to maintain the lead, I will be inclined to switch to 4e (so far, it's been a back-and-forth battle, but the Pros are ahead at the moment). I get a bit tunnel-visioned with regards to game systems, though...

Good point. It's obviously insane to use all the rules. Next time I run 3.5, I'll just send my players to Hobo if they want me to stick closer to the rules, because they obviously don't get it. Why do we even have different systems?

Why do different systems even exist? I know that I'm stumped. I'm guessing that "enough people" have probably posted very similar statements on the messageboards for other games (that they prefer). What's good for Group A isn't always good for Group B, no matter how many people post to the...

For me, a lot of it is feel, brought on by certain things in the 3.x system. I can say that power-balance, levels above 10, magic items, etc. have caused me plenty of headaches. I can't really communicate exactly, though, for two reasons. One, it's hard to put my thumb on exact issues, only...
