    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

I still disagree with this because I think a character doesn't have to be utterly defined by "one power for x, one power from y, one power from z." Some would represent a Paladin/Rogue with multiclass powers, where I might be more inclined to just give a Paladin some unusual skill choices. Not...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

I edited my above post. I guess I see that as more of a flavor change than something that must be represented by 1 Incarnum Power + 1 Arcane Power + 1 Divine Power + 1 Psionic Power. For example, you could do Divine/Psionic and have rituals represent the arcane side.

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

Edit: To the post above me, I have a strong feeling you can't multiclass into a fourth class with the Paragon Tier swap. That's not a character concept, it's a laundry list of mechanics. Edit: To give my post more substance, let me create a character concept from your list. Calvin is a...

    Why rename HP & Saves?

Unless, of course, you're selling a product. ;) To be clear, I'm not saying that they should necessarily change hit points to ___ points. I'm just saying that one of the points in favor of doing so is valid.

Warlock with Paladin Multiclass Feat grouped with Warrior

You could make anything sound dumb by using this tone. That doesn't make you right.

    Why rename HP & Saves?

The question does not concern original intent, but popular interpretation.

    D&D 4E 4e mid encounter fatigue

'Bloodied => Reasoning => Recharge Powers' appears to be the most popular solution so far. Agreed. I have a love-hate relationship with this module. I want to finish my own homebrew campaign before the end of summer, but I need to run KotS first...

    Redesigning the D&D website

Nice design. I think an archive link directly under the news header would make it easier for frequent users to access old content. Other than that, looks great. This is hilarious.

    1. It would also be an increase in cost for lower HP classes. 2. That, and it doesn't require a minor action. I'm going off of a fuzzy memory here, but I'm fairly certain that Hunter's Quarry takes a minor action. 3. This links to the complaint about the Cleric's healing once per day. True...

    The new multiclassing: comboclassing

Not everyone would concede the point that these multiclass rules aren't good enough to cover most, if not all, character concepts. I wouldn't.

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

I challenge you to find me a character concept that can't be represented with this system. This brings up another point. If I have just two cleric powers, but I use them all the time, I'm essentially 50/50 anyways.

Predicting the joy of Paragon tier

From a first-glance perspective, I think I'd prefer if the Paragon Paths were more open than this. I suppose it's not a big deal either way. I imagine that the system for Epic Destinies will have a different feel.

    D&D 4E 4e mid encounter fatigue

This thread is poses a good question. I look forward to seeing more of people's creative solutions. I'm not sure this is true, looking at the Fighter class features. Fey Step may become an important BBEG move.

Warlock with Paladin Multiclass Feat grouped with Warrior

Nice combo, I agree that the new version appears to promote tactical combat. This is a good point. In general, I've found neutral gods to be more interesting than the polarized ones. After all, serving the god of night is going to result in a much more interesting character than serving a...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

...but isn't the persistent complaint on this thread that these new multiclass options are "weaker" because they cost feats? Nevermind that they have the enormous advantage of not disrupting your character's spell level/sneak attack/rage advancement (in 3e terms). QFT Edit: Which is better...

    Two Example Skill Challenges

As I see it, the main debate in this thread has been whether or not skill challenges would be appropriate in a given situation... but this makes no sense. Of course a trapped door isn't going to be well simulated by a skill challenge. It doesn't have to be, just use your head to figure out where...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

I challenge you to find me a character concept that cannot be accomodated with these multiclassing rules. I will then show you that you are wrong.

    D&D 4E Video Review of the 4E D&D Website

I don't see any reason to watch the video, but it is echoing a sentiment that I've had for a while. The D&D Website is ridiculously hard to navigate. I can only stand it because I'm up to date and I can just click the Archive button to find new stuff. I tried to find the D&D XP sheets the other...

    Why does WotC hate Macs?

If you choose to use a Mac, you choose to forgo all the software that gets developed for Windows. Has it ever not been that way?
