    Windows Security Question - Help!

You were just changing stuff in c:\documents and settings\<username>, right? Did you change the permissions on anything else? Why were you booting into safe mode in the first place?

Help Me With My Frog Race Religion Please

The largemouth bass eats frogs and tadpoles, and so do other fish. So there's another baddie for you. The evil devouring fish god, ever hungry, eating the young of the frog people. Or something. What do grippli eat? That could be a kind of harvest god. A little weird, but hey, they're frog people.

    Alt Tumble rules

I made up a chart of Tumble Vs BAB and looked at how it turned out. It's kind of hard to judge because it's an opposed roll, but with all the possible bonuses to tumble compared to basically no possbile bonuses to BAB, as long as a dedicated tumbler (max ranks, 18 dex and tumble focus) is going...

    Alternatives to Newegg?

That seems very unusual for newegg. Usually they are the pinnacle of customer service. Try Pricewatch.com or Froogle.google.com for good prices, at least.

    Independant Computer Dealers

Yes, but he (my uncle) was running WinME.

    Independant Computer Dealers

xcorvis successfully avoids commenting in the Mac vs PC Holy War. Back to cluster sizes... Your statements about the use of cluster sizes are correct, but when formatting disks in Windows ME (*shudder*) and most other versions of Windows, the default cluster size is automatically determined...

    Question on reinstalling XP

Er, since when? Usually a restore disk works by wiping your hard drive as the first step, then loading a preconfigured OEM version of Windows, complete with loads of crap demo software. Agreed. I would reinstall drivers first. Reinstalling Windows means reinstalling drivers plus everything...

    Grapple Opportunities

I don't think it would come up often enough for it to be broken. Feat or no, if you want to go up against a Huge creature with a +8 grapple bonus and high strength, be my guest.

What DO you DO for... Rogues?

I think you're missing the point of the thread. Or I'm missing your sarcasm. Either way. ;)

    Independant Computer Dealers

Some people have terrible luck with independent places. My uncle is one of those. He always manages to find the WORST techs around. Last time he bought a hard drive and had it installed, the guy split the 20 GB drive into ten 2 GB partitions. He said it was a more efficient use of space. While...

    Campaign Wiki

You might like Wiki-on-a-stick. A single-file wiki, but this one has static boxes instead of "non-linear" ones.

RPGui - Free Online Tabletop Project

I can't really think of such a program that I haven't already seen before, so I'll make this recommendation: Find someone else who already has an OK program, and help them make it better. PCGen is a good one, but it's a large project. There are many GPL'd projects if you look for them. There are...

    d20 ring

Hehe, geek bling. You could make one yourself from a ring pop, a d20, a file and some super glue.

    PC on a Thumb Drive!

I can't recall where I heard it first, but there's a note about it in the Flash Memory article on Wikipedia. I can't locate a more detailed source right now, but that's a start. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_memory#Limitations

    PC on a Thumb Drive!

That's neat, but just a word of warning: flash drives have a limited number of writes they can perform before they die. If you run applications like that off a flash drive, you're going to reduce the lifespan of the drive significantly. But flash drives are cheap, and that sounds really cool. ;)

    Cartography Workshop

I'm not fond of the specific graphic you're using, but the basic effect (to keep the shadow fuzzy but the actual object sharp) is the right way to go, IMO. So yes, that's better. :D

Strength Bows Rule or House Rule?

Here's the SRD link: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/weapons.htm#longbow It doesn't really say it explicitly, but the line about being able to "add your strength bonus to damage" strongly implies that if you don't have the bonus, you would not apply it. Common sense also says that if you...

Word Document to Power Point: Possible?

    1. Cut and paste. It works great between the different MS office programs. Retains font, formatting, etc. You'll still have to monkey with it to make it look good, but it'll all be there. 2. I know exactly what you're talking about, and as someone who has seen quite a few presentations, I ask...
