    Feat Types?

I don't have my book handy, as mentioned, but from what I recall, it's sort of a subtype. Devotional feats can be taken as Divine feats, but have special rules that apply to them that don't apply to Divine feats. It's weird... or I misread something. One of those two. :)

Experience Points and D&D Economy - What I'd Like To See

I tend to agree, though I'm actually using both right now. I'm running an E6 game - which isn't terribly relevant, but just to point out that the cap is a bit lower - and money is a significant resource for the players. Significant enough that it *is* worth their while to count coppers. But...

Scott Rouse blog - Rogue ability

Or, you know. There are those of us for whom those two things actually are issues. I'm not saying that it's as many as it's been made out to be, but casually dismissing grappling or static combats as non-problems is as shortsighted as anything else, after all. That said, I'm relatively...

Damn. So would I. That's actually a really nifty way of dealing with Elminster.

So what's gold gonna be for?

Here's where I've got a question for you both. Why? Why is the Butt-Kicker upgrading so he can kill more stuff? Why do Kraydak's "professional adventurers" adventure professionally - what are they after? I mean, nobody regularly puts themselves in highly-lethal situations regularly unless...

    D&D INSIDER CLARIFICATION...e-books/extras

First off, good list of methods, Malchior - thanks. Gives something to think about. As far as "how many D&D players are thieves," I don't know exactly how to answer that. I do know, though, that we get a post or two about pirating PDFs of books every few months, and that's just the folks who...

    D&D INSIDER CLARIFICATION...e-books/extras

Sounds like a plan I certainly enjoy, but I'd be worried about folks grabbing a book off the shelf, jotting down the key, and then putting the book back on the shelf... and even more worried about the honest person that buys it, goes home, and finds his key has already been used. Any ideas how...

What are you going to be for Halloween?

Not that it helps GlassJaw much, but for my part, I'll be assisting at a nearby church that throws a huge supervised event for the small kids. I think I'm making sure no tiny kids get *too* lost or scared in the straw-bale maze. :) In the past, I've had some fun costumes. If you've got the...

So what's gold gonna be for?

Well, sure, you can. But it's not a viable option in 3E - by spending your gold on anything other than magical items, you wreck the curve and, especially if everyone doesn't do the same, you can no longer contribute in the same fashion. The point from folks saying "you can't do that in 3E"...

Way to get girls (?!): the new column for the new Dragon.

I did, too. I was sad when it disappeared, actually. And here I thought I was the only one. :D I really didn't mind this one, either. It got a smile or two. Not my favourite Dragon piece, but not bad - I actually liked it more than the Death Knight ecology, to be honest. (Though not quite...

D&D 4E Does anyone agree with me about 4E?

While I have to admit, it was extraordinarily clever, we all know that Nifft has been winning too many threads lately, and thus must be suspected of being at the heart of some sort of disgusting conspiracy to artificially inflate the numbers supporting his agenda, which everyone knows is...

    Tiefling Tables

Everything said here plus some. Though I still think a list of suggested traits is worthwhile - a lot of folk have a hard time, I've found, without something like that to draw on. And I don't think it'd be out of line for the appearance-only traits at first level to eventually be a prereq for...

    Darkcraft? Fact or Fiction?

Well, erm, not really. Good guys don't tend to kill people in ritual sacrifice in order to get the "phat loots," after all. That said, I think there are a couple different sourcebooks that cover alternative sources of power for item crafting. What're you looking for, exactly?

    [October] What are you playing?

Just finally broke out and finished Vampire: Bloodlines from a few years back. Not bad, but some issues. I suspect I'm gonna go without video games for a few weeks now while I get some prep going for a campaign I'll be starting in two weeks or so, though. That said, something gave me the itch...

What journal / blog site to use?

Another option - not mentioned here, but really not that bad - would be to pick up a host and domain name, and run it yourself. It's what I've done with my site (less open blog, and more campaign notes, but still,) and it's worked out quite well without costing all that much - around $80 a...

    EA buys Bioware (and Pandemic)

Now, now. In all fairness, if we're talking about EA teaching anything we need to start with lesson 1) pump out tasteless sequels, and lesson 2) fail at life. ;)

Cats inside house (2 Cats Dead; 1 Cat Adopted; 1 Raccoon, 1 Possum Relocated)

My family has a cat that's just shy of seventeen years old. He has lived outside his entire life - first, in San Diego suburbs, and then, for the last ten years, in northern Vermont. Year-round, 24/7. He's been inside the house for more than a few minutes only when sick (twice) or when we had...

    The Goblin Defense Fund

I've kept the Charisma penalty, in my games - not as an objective measure of appearance, but using the stat as a form of presence and self-worth, something that, after being fiendishly trodden on for so many years, goblins are indeed lacking. ;)
