I assume it will be possible to tie it to GREYHAWK among others, because its the campaign setting featured in the Dungeon Master Guide 2024.

Interesting to see GREYHAWK getting more love! Funily in 2012 when playtesting the next edition WoTC sent me Caves of Chaos in Alpha Packets to serve as base adventure site.

Its similar to JC when saying Invisible creature still had (dis)advantage benefits vs See Invisibility because the condition wasn't negated or countered.

The Blindsight should make you ignore effects from the Blinded condition. The Blinded condition should be negated if you can see somehow. As it stand you wold still be under the effect and thus have your Attacks Affected.

You can attack while you Hide if you can make ranged attacks from where you Hide, or melee attacks from elsewhere if an enemy doesn't find you before and the DM determines the circumstances are appropriate for Hiding, for exemple because the target is heavily distracted.

The purpose of Hiding is to conceal yourself, not attack in melee. If you can do so in no one's line of sight, you may even have Advantage as explained in the Invisible condition: If a creature can somehow see you, you don't gain this benefit against that creature.

Is Line of Sight defined in the Glossary?

If to conceal yourself, you must be out of any enemy's line of sight, i expect there will be ways to determine line of sight in grid play, like DMG 2014 and perhaps more guidance on how to handle the Hide action.

The Invisible condition has a benefit called Concealed. So you're likely not concealed if you're not out of any enemy's line of sight who can see you somehow.

To conceal yourself, you must be out of any enemy's line of sight among other things.

Perhaps the 2024 DMG will also contain guidelines for using ability scores like 2014, letting DM opt to not do any Wisdom (Perception) check in some case where someone instead finds you automatically without rolling or using passive perception if judging it's justified for example.

I just read elsewhere that they're not the same and wording was changed. Could you share an image of Vision & Light rules and Heavily Obscured ? I'd like to compare with 2014 text if you can thanks.

What are the Vision & Light rules? Is mundane darkness still heavily obscured area that blocks vision entirely?
