    no spellcraft isn't more powerful than other skills, Ever saw Epic spellcasting?? that Vengeance Gaze of Gods requiring a spellcraft check of +400 ... compare to the 100 or 120 swim required to swim up a Waterfall... Every skill gets powered in epic levels. Does the RAW (items/spells)...

    yes Bane is "overpowered" in 3.0 it was a +2.. But compared to holy it is somewhat weaker.. its more like 1.7 in power... and should get houseruled... either making it weaker = +1 or making it stronger = +2..

    Fire elementals would be poorly effected either way.. Physics say that nothing would happen. And reading and understanding the whole d20 mechanism (Not jsut interpretate and twist it - Like some Evil Curropting our world) the Fire elementals would be poorly affected.. if not affected at all

    well atm its class bonus + con etc for fortitude. and your gonna do class bonus + con + str so your adding an ability here. dc = 10 + int (wiz) and your making it dc = 5 + int + wis And with those relatively low stats.. with an average of 12 (+1)... so Saves get +1 higher at level 1...

    the enchantment system doesn't work the way like +2 x 2.5 = 5... its more like 1= a, 2=a^2, 3=a^3, n=a^n ... so the 1d4 ability damage would be more like a +3 or +4.. Btw, there is a diffrence between the thing syour comparing... like the *rod of orcus*, the *Rod of Withering*, the creature...
