Theres some things you just gotta know... think irl for a moment:
Theres an annoying druken man yelling at you... if you were to oppose him in a melee fight, would you be small and thin, or big and strong? (i choose big and strong.., if i where small and thin i would avoid melee)
Now.. a...
We often play: "Core only" for generating Chars... later we use most products...
The reason is that some of the new classes are just insanely weird, and doesn't fit in at all... some shouldn't even be there..
i think i might use the term ability irl... or more in the lines of abilities... "I wish i had better swimming abilities"
But if i couldn't swim at all; "I wish i had the ability of swimming"
well theres a mistake... you can use your round to make a withdraw action.. by taking a double move action ... so it can't take more than 6s (You listed 12) should be more according to 2x moveaction... = 4,6 s.. or follow the full round: 5,3s ...
There are 3 ways of opening a chest etc.
1) Use lockpick...
2) if it has an outside lock, try to break that...
3) Smash the chest
Now the door is likewise...
You either lockpick it... burst through the lock and/or hinges OR You COMPLETELY Demolish it...
Im sorry... but it seems logical that...
I would call a min-maxer for a powergamer...
On the subject of Rule lawyers.. :
I would choose between Rule reference and rule lawyer...
In my opinion and experience, a rule lawyer is someone who stops the Game/destroys it/halts it/ just to make sure all go by the Book and nothing is...
why should this be a "failure of the system" ? This allows maximus DM flavor... instead of sayign all the time: "you are lucky"... he has several ways of explaining it, enhancing his monster describtion making more out of the combat sequence....
you feel its penalising him that he can does +1d4 vs ALL(nearly) monsters while the others do 1d6 vs 2/3 of the monsters.. and actually at higher levels.. they do more like 1d6 vs... 1/8 of the monsters
yes.. no arcane spells without some special power enabling it to do so... you mgiht have seen sveral places that a player can't cast spell unless he has a high enought int bonus etc... and no spell with a int of less than 10.... Same count for monsters... Even constructs!
Well... all the mechanics are based upon making the turn based game TURN BASED... each player should have an equal opportunity within each turn (unless because of factor x or x or x....) Thats why there's no class with 2x standard action and 1 moveaction etc. AND thats why everyone...
It can absolutely not be allowed! You cannot gain such actions.. when it isn't your turn... By allowing this you can start a chain of reactions leaving to lots of attack on someone else turn... this is going against EVERY mechanic in the game...
The argument; "concept of throwing all your money away" doesn't really hold much ground... on the other hand, a swinning PC in a waterworld, wouldn't be bad.. not at all...
In a normal non-powergaming, non-hack and slash campaign you wouldn't really feel "left over" "a burden" "weak" or...
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Do everyone keep focusing on POWERGAMING ??
If all the other players make Maxed out power gaming Chars... and you with your non-concept half-powergaming master thrower can't get equally strong.. does that mean its not viable ..?
