    World's oldest D20 anyone?

I'm not sure what those symbols are supposed to be, but they're NOT roman numerals. ;)

    World's oldest D20 anyone?

Check this out! The world's oldest D20 is up for grabs! Speaking of old dice; my avatar is Viking D4, in case anyone was wondering. (Fat chance! :p ) Gary Gygax weren't the first to think of these things... :D

    Vikings D20

Has anyone noticed I've got a new avatar? It's a d4, the way the Vikings made them. No, Gary Gygax weren't the first! ;) Four rectangular sides and two smaller, pyramide shape sides. They were used to play a board game called Sakko. The sides were marked I, II, III and X (sakko). Edit: This...

3.5ed is the one true game

Start playing Vikings D20! Nine out of ten Vikings agree it's the one true game and think all other games are pale imitations. :p

NPC stats in PDF books - waste of space or useful DM's aid?

3.5ed is the one true game

Yes, I I found out from this thread how it erases formating. :p

NPC stats in PDF books - waste of space or useful DM's aid?

Yeah, I was thinking I might put them all in one place; at the end of the chapter of PrC's, for example. That way you can easily skip those pages if you don't want them.

NPC stats in PDF books - waste of space or useful DM's aid?

I have this book that's nearing completion (see sig.) and I wonder how much info to put in it. So how do all of you feel about NPC stat blocks in your PDF books? (I'm thinking a sample NPC for each PrC here.) Are they a waste of printer paper and ink, or do you find them useful?

    Dragon Campaigns

I've had dragons as cohorts, allies, recurring enemies etc. and once I had two dragon PCs. The other players had no idea they were dragons, though. This was a campaign with a group of mostly newbie players. Two guys kept getting killed all the time, because they simply didn't care about their...

Do you warn your PCs before they do something stupid?

If they're doing something I feel the PC's should know better than doing, even if the players don't, then I give them a hint that they're about to do something stupid. Doesn't happen all that often, though. Often as not, they go ahead and do it anyway! :p

Whats the best you've ever rolled

My new 8th level archer PC was having a hard time getting the other PCs to accept him as a useful addition to their group and I felt I had to impress them a little. So I asked one of them to take an apple, run 600 ft. away and throw the apple into the air. After the apple left his hand, I drew...

When your DM asks you how many hit points you have left...

If I die, I die. If the DM 'cheats' to keep my character alive it takes away a lot of the exitement of combat.

    Essential handbooks for a newb?

As both player and DM I've had a lot of use and a lot of fun with the good/evil books, Book of Exalted Deeds and Book of Vile Darkness.

What is your favorite D&D monster?

Red dragons for me. A monster just can't get any more classic than those ancient big, evil, flying, fire breathing reptiles! :]
