...and how about these Vikings skiers, by Knud bergslien? Or the Valkyrie, by P. N. Arbo? Or the armies of Asgard, also by Arbo?

the power of a good illustration

I've spent way too much time searching for pics to use as illustrations in my Vikings book the last year, but seeing this thread gives me I hope that it will be worth it. Obviously I'm not the only one who see the value of having just the right illustration! :D Here's a one of my favorites...

Putting Corpses in the Bag of Holding

In DMed a campaign that ran all the way into epic levels and beyond, where the players had no fear of death, since a True Ressurrection was easily affordable to them. I think everyone in the party had at least one ride in the bag of holding, some had several! :p The fun began when they put an...

Do you allow murder within the party?

As a DM, I don't decide what the players' characters do; the players do that. Not that anyone in my regular group has ever had a PC try to kill another PC, but if it ever happens it happens. It won't be a problem. As a player, I've never tried to kill another PC. I wouldn't hesitate to do so...

Are you a gamer or a reader?

Definitely a gamer! If I read a game book, it is only because I want to see if/how it can be used in my campaign.

What do your players do with thier dead foes?

Depending on the campaign (and the dead foe), the players in my group have done everything on your list (and then some) with dead bodies. They've buried some, animated some as zombies, in some cases made sure the dead guys can't be raised, collected skulls or other trophies... Most of the time...

We went from 5 saving throws to...64!

Heh. When I read the first post, where OP gripes about there being 64 saves, I thought I knew what he meant. Turned out I was wrong, though. :o But he got me thinking about something about the saves system that has frustrated me occasionally: I thought the OP was referring to the many...

    Primitive vs Advanced Magic

I once let a party come across some old stone tablets with primitive versions of classic spells carved on them. Really ancient, really huge slabs of stone with large writing; as if the runic inscriptions were made by giants. The old versions of the spells were generally weaker and more...

    OotS # 418 (Friday)

This strip has no story. Nor is it funny, IMO. For me, this is the first time Rich really disappointed me.

Yup. In the sequence concerning the death of Balder. (As I mentioned, Hermod is travelling to Helheim to ask Hel to return Balder.)

    1001 Merchant Caravans

Caravan of Jallathan, the half-orc trader (noone knows where he's from originally) He leads a train of overloaded mules, carrying huge bales of cotton. The caravan is very well protected. One might wonder why he feels the need for so many brutal-looking guards for a load of cotton... Because...
