    Having trouble threatening players

Use other things with the Solo. As has been said, a Solo is only a normal encounter. It's why some Solos have auras and stuff. They're meant to be used with other guys. If you're using Dragons, surround them with Kobolds. With the new Draconomicon, there are a few different types of Kobolds...

    undead immune to unconsciousness?

To clarify: I wasn't dissing 4e. I love it. My points about undead were absolutely in favor of the 4e idea that things don't need to make sense.

    Multiclass feats for templates

Awesome. At least there's a comment. I'll try to work on more later. It just seemed so obvious to me. My only problem, as has been pointed out, is that I'm not certain on balance. I'm a "close enough" kinda guy.

Action Point Tokens: A Mechanical Incentive to RP

We use Karma points. Each person starts with 4 or 5. You can add 1 to any check with 1. You can spend 2 to add 1 to an ally's check. If you RP well, you get bonus Karma. Good RP, awesome descriptions, and perfect timing can get you a Karma point. It's great.

Flourish - a mechanical bonus in combat for roleplaying

Nice. I like the idea of stunting bonuses. If they give a nifty description of the scene, they get a +1 to attack. If they USE the scene, especially in a way that would involve a skill check, they get a +2 bonus if the check succeeds, the standard +1 if it doesn't. If the description is awesome, +3.

    Multiclass feats for templates

I love the multiclass feats. I also really like the new direction they seem to be taking them with the weapon feats from the Gladiator article. Basically, multiclass feats can be used to add some sort of "extra" to a character without tying it to another class. I also really liked the idea of...

    When you don't fit in

While not RAWRRR!!!! my plan for Clerics and Paladins who annoy there gods is rather simple. If a Cleric of Bahamut just tortured a child for kicks... well, it'll be bad. I'll probably have an encounter ability go off on the Cleric at the start. If it continues, it will be another. Longer and it...

    undead immune to unconsciousness?

Also, remember that "don't need to" is not the same as "can't". Just like with Warforged. I have a Warforged that talks about wanting to get some food. One of the players said, "Warforged don't drink!" My response was, "Incorrect. Warforged don't NEED to drink." 4th doesn't play well with...

Was there a real need for a fourth ed.? Or would tweaking 3.5 have done it for you?

I don't know. When I started playing, I really liked the game. As time went on, and I played with different groups. When the last books started coming out, I realized that I absolutely loved the options and ideas that they had. They made me wonder why the core was missing so many awesome things...

D&D 4E [4e] Wizard as good as a Fighter in Standard Melee

Other than the +1 bonus for Fighters, you're absolutely correct. BUT, as people have point out, that doesn't matter. It's a non-issue. What about the d20? It's theoretically possible for a Fighter and Wizard to stand in front of each other wailing away. If the Wizard gets lucky constantly on the...

    Savage Worlds

I played in a Savage Worlds: Deadlands game. It was a lot of fun. It was much different from d20. It's a much more open system, I think. Sometimes it's nice to just have a total of 4 or 5 things to choose from for everything. "I hit." "Roll Strength (or Body or whatever the stat's called.)" "I...

    Immediate Interrupts: Rule vs Etiquette?

Probably. The DM for one game has decided to have 2 types of combat. Arcade and Story. An Arcade combat involves making your choice in 5 seconds, doing what you need to do, then moving on to someone else. It's incredibly fast. Story combats will be against the major guys and will involve doing...

    Immediate Interrupts: Rule vs Etiquette?

It says, "You are hit by an attack." It doesn't say, "You are attacked." This is a metapower. If you have an AC of 18, and the DM gets a 20, he says, "I hit you." You then say, "I use Shield, so I have an AC of 22." The DM says, "I didn't hit you." You then describe the scene accordingly. The DM...

    A Brand New World

What edition is this game? I would actually recommend incorporating some aspect of permanence, or the players won't have any sort of connection to the world. Maybe there's one day every month when the gods have a moment of clarity and "finalize" an area. Let's use states as an example. Pretend...

Do Battleforged Armor & Cloak of the Walking Wounded stack?

But you're also a Warlock. Are you expecting to be in melee? I could see something like that working for a Paladin. Especially if you take items or feats that add Charisma to your healing. Then again, I still have to ask, "Why?" Why go to all of that trouble? Why not put some of that stuff...

RPG ideas for a 5 year old

One of my friends was just running a game for his 10 year where the kid was playing a Dragonborn Ranger. Rich just tacked on an NPC Cleric and went with it. He then added the 6 year old. Things are still working fine. 4e is a marvelous system that is full of complexities, but still easy enough...

    Posting submissions

It sounds like you want to create a new campaign setting that is loosely based on 4e rules. Wizards has enough on their plate as it is. I would recommend finding an online RPG company in Turkey and talking to them. If your stuff is good, they might be interested.

Brainstorm: "Arena" feats to other power sources

I'm not sure, but I know that I'm thinking about doing the same sort of thing to mimic the 3.5 idea of templates. With the advent of the Spellscarred stuff and the Gladiator stuff, they showed just how open the multiclass feats could be.

Forked Thread: PC concept limitations in 4e

Right. I'll take the grass. I use the mechanics to get ideas for the flavor. Yeah, I'll look at what the powers have for flavor, but that's not the extent of it. It's not at all difficult to reflavor things. You don't even need to describe it as the same thing. I've played a Wizard. I used...

    Ascardian - Arcane Melee Striker

I don't see a change. I still think that Sharpened Blade might not be appropriate for such a low level.
