    Captured holy implements?

My group would just transfer it now. Before the Transfer Enchantment ritual, I think the idea was that there would be a brief "rededication" ritual- which is something that I've seen mention A LOT on these boards by different people- and then just play. It's an instrument of divine intervention...

    D&D 4E My 4e problem.

You don't want them to have TOO much of a glass jaw. There's probably a reason that the Wizard has the lowest number of hit points. I really like the idea of using a healing surge to add to damage. That's awesome.

    How do I throw people?

When it comes to minions, all bets are off. In our games, if you hit a minion, you can describe anything that you want with your weapon. If I want to do something with my hand, though, I make a normal unarmed attack, then describe from there. On a hit, I may grab and snap a neck, or flip the...

Figurines of Wondrous Power & actions?

Basically, you can have your BBEG stand and fight the enemies, while he uses his Move and Minor actions to cause his Figurine to Move and Attack. When you want him to move and attack, just have the Figurine stand in place and attack. It's not really a raw deal. It's a good time. I've seen a...

Need opinions on a Fighter level 2 Utility...

I use Pass Forward a few times per combat. I used it in our last game to set the Rogue up for a flank. When I did it, he got a big smile on his face and eviscerated the enemy. It was good times. You can't go wrong with an extra At-Will.

    How do I throw people?

We reflavor nearly everything that we do. I would make my role for a Bull Rush. If succeeded, I would describe my guy crouching low, picking up the enemy by the throat and waist, spinning with him, and throwing him. Knowing my group, rolling really high and describing it in an awesome way would...

    Unveiled Visage Paragon Path

If part of the charge is the ability to fly, that's not an addition. You can either run or fly to your target. I like it. It seems cool. When it comes to flying creatures.... I would absolutely use it. I love stuff like that.

    D&D 4E My 4e problem.

Things will need to change. That much is clear. I find the idea to be absolutely staggering. Why, if you're willing to change some things, aren't you willing to change others? If Clerics seem too much of one type, I'll assume that it's because of the fact that they tend to deal Radiant damage...

Level 1 hard encounter: white or black young dragon?

I would recommend playing and DMing a few times before getting complicated. It will take a while to really run 4e the way it should be run, and I think that you're begging for a TPK, if only for the fact that your players won't be familiar with all of the options, both personal and tactical.

help me out here...what to play the first time

I love the Swordmage. The powers are a lot of fun, and you should be able to create a lot of awesome scenes when it comes to those powers. They rock at defending, but they have a few nice abilities to destroy groups of enemies, just like a Controller.

    Adding Templates to Solo Creatures...

And the yelling. Don't forget the yelling. And the aura that nobody can see except the audience.

    Lava?

Instant death is the main idea. The only save is to see if you can drop prone before going in. Reflavor the prone in any way you would like.

    Swordmage 4e Your Experiences?

I'm in a group which is basically 2 Swordmages (one mine), a Rogue, and a Ranger. I think that's it. There's a lot of power overlap between Swordmages, but there are a lot of other differences. I love the Swordmage. My current one is a level 7(?) "Shadowsoul Genasi" Swordmage (I took the Dhampyr...

    The Craft Skill missing?

I told my players to choose a background. Were they raised by farmers, blacksmiths, jewelers? I then told them that, if it came up, that would give them the ability to do something different. When trying to convince a lord to join them, the jeweler might decide to make a ring as a gift. When...

Rant -- GM Control, Taking it Too Far?

I've lucked out in the fact that I'm finally with an awesome group where we've all become friends and know how the others play and run. I'll never play another game run by one of the guys because I've been in them before and he's too focused on what I view as the "wrong things". He's a great...

They put an early Monk preview into the character builder. "HADOKEN!"

Rant -- GM Control, Taking it Too Far?

haakon1, that's some awesome stuff right there. I find myself wanting to do something like that in one of our more serious games. It's awesome. Oryan77, you said that you shouldn't have to defend yourself to someone when they ask you why you won't allow something. I disagree heavily with that...

Character Creation - Simplified or Detailed?

I would also like a "Depends" option. It depends on the type of game, the group, and the awesomeness of the system. I love D&D. 4e character creation is nifty. I love looking through everything and plotting my stuff as I go. White Wolf stuff is always interesting. That's fairly complex. I like...

How many books did you buy after the three core books?

I'm buying everything except adventures. I DM sometimes, but I like to have the books because they're awesome. They're full of great ideas, awesome mechanics, and nifty pictures. I haven't been using Dungeon except to save the PDFs, and I haven't used the other tools, but I absolutely LOVE Dragon.

Convince me to let my players use these items.

I will agree that they are slightly better than a Great Weapon Fighter, except that their armor will probably be a little worse. I definitely prefer it, but I like a lot of Striker in my Defender.
