Oooo! My first RPG was red box D&D.... but then I recall the reasons why AD&D overtook B/X (at least in my eyes) so my interest went away. Perhaps something to get when nostalgia hits me again.

I was not planning on buying this. But apparently I had other ideas and went behind my own back to purchase it, both PDF + pre-order hard-copy. It indeed is metal. But doesn't replace the love I have for WFRP.

The way I see it is that the Players are rolling dice for both their character and the opposition. Either they succeed or their opposition does (or both manage to ding each other). A single dice roll rather than two (or 4 if a system has resistance/dodge rolls).

I can dislike systems for various reasons. I like systems to be able to produce reasonably balanced characters so systems/games that don't do this I dislike e.g. RIFTs. Some systems can be overly complicated. I'm sure some games released in the nineties would fit into this category. Also...

I like Dice Pool systems. Being able to increase the number of dice rolled gives the feel of significant character improvement, and I like the statistics behind the number of successes you can generate with increasing the pool of dice rolled.

"Too historically accurate" for me. I.e. I believe the author claimed how historically accurate it was. It contained racism, misogyny, hate and anal circumference measurements. If that's historical accuracy then there was too much of it in the game for my tastes.

There is no debacle. C7 decided that they could not publish TOR 2E for reasons they have not revealed. SG will therefore look for another publishing partner as they have indicated they want 2E published. Not sure why any of the owners of the rights would care about a delay with the publishing...

I'm surprised Scion doesn't appear in the Fantasy list. Signs of Sorcery appears both in Fantasy and Modern and I'd consider Scion both a Fantasy and Modern genre game in the same way Signs of Sorcery has been considered by its publisher.

I'm not suggesting not allowing multiple genres, but perhaps having one selected as the main genre. Although I do acknowledge the difficulty with games such as Shadowrun.

I only have one "Star Wars" rpg at the moment - Scum and Villainy. So I guess that's my answer.
