    3EDnD.com

Well I donno if there is an object lesson to be had here or not... but 3eDnD.com is out of business. Guess he couldn't do better on his own after all. Oh well... James

    PDF Awards?

That won't work either as it just becomes a network of "Good 'o boys" voting for themselves (which is what the GAMA awards have become). If I'm to support this, it needs to be a fair impartial pannel of judges handing out the majority of the awards. Oh, I do like the sound of the EDGAR...

    PDF Awards?

Though I'm willing to support it in a basic way, I'm still concenred about yet another online award and yet another popularity vote verus a call for true quality. I'd prefer to see a board of people who do the voting who are not just d20 people. There of course could be a peoples choice award...

    PDF Awards?

Well I see no problem giving the awards a perminant link like I do for the ENnnies as well as a spotlight/logo display for the announcment and the winners before and during the time of the event. In general we're willing to support this idea if we don't have to do much work to do so. Already...

    Trying out a super-sale

I'm not going to get into the specifics... In short if you produce a decent looking product that doesn't infringe on any licenses there shouldn't be an issue. We will not be reviewing based on content, but more on presentation and functionality. If a book is writen by someone who obviously never...

    Trying out a super-sale

Of course. We don't intentially leave anything broken. If something is actually broken and not working we fix it ASAP, just need to be told about it. But if you mean broken in a more loose sense of you not getting value out of the tool, that's another store. We always welcome the input... we...

    Trying out a super-sale

I thought I had mentioned this in a vendor update... guess you or I glossed over it. In 2004, RPGNow _WILL_ be making more of an effort to say "NO" to vendors. It's been very hard in the past as I'm just a nice guy, want to give everyone a chance, don't want to be accused of favortisium, etc...

    Trying out a super-sale

I'm considering making this a required purchase before we sign up any new publishers. Kind of a startup fee that includes a free book. Thoughts? James

We run the EN World store here and we just placed a large reorder for the bags. Hope that helps you out! James

    Trying out a super-sale

I think the issue is that people have to start thinking of RPGNow as a store and less as an ulteristic heaven for PDF publishing. We're here to make money and to display great products to sell. Maybe that's my own fault for always trying to please everyone and trying to help the industry grow...

Bard, Very helpful input. I always like to hear personal summaries like that. They do help! For example a couple things you mentioned you'd like to see we already have. That means that we're not making good use of them and you're not seeing them. So I'll address that. Top lists with d20 and...

    Trying out a super-sale

I'm inclined to just put the lists back the way they were. As usual, this issue is another can of worms. But I'll leave it up for a while longer for people to see/review/comment. On another note, it was suggested by more then one person that maybe we just make the front page mostly editorial...

    Trying out a super-sale

Not exactly... we're just trying out a new query to see what it's like based on $. So if you haven't checked today, go over and check and leave a comment here or on our forums. My guess is we'll go with an alternating one or leave it the way it was. James

    Trying out a super-sale

Actually it's just the opposite that's WAS a problem. Free products are not shown on the lists. So if you make your paid product free, it falls off the list forever. But if on the other hand you make your free product a paid product after getting "bought" a bunch of times, it was putting them...

    Trying out a super-sale

RPGNow doesn't get nearly the front page traffic you get. We get about 1000 unique vistors which is probably about 1500-2000 requests form your server a day. We can try while you're around to watch the load. If you don't mind taking more editorial control over the news and it's ok if I only...

    Trying out a super-sale

I had a talk on our forums about doing a pay-for-exposure on the front page concept. Wasn't really well recieved. Anyway, GOLD VENDOR is meant for 2 people really. The first kind of person is a publisher with little resources to do much on their own in the way of managing their sales and...

First Morrus, please don't take what I'm saying here as if it was ME saying it. I'm only bringing up some concerns that were brought to my attention (regardless of wether I believe them or believe there is any solution). Second, the search function is rather simple. I can give you some PHP...

    Trying out a super-sale

I certainly don't know where you get that figure from since at least our top five sellers at RPGNow are all non-gold vendors. For what it's worth, roughly half of the total $ volume sold at RPGNow are from non-GOLD VENDORS. James

    Trying out a super-sale

You might have something there... I recently integrated RPG.NET reviews into RPGShop... I'm sure we can do something simular with ENWorld reveiws. If you have a php function (url) that I can call passing a product title and have it return matches with links, I'll integrate it in under the onsite...
