Maps Feature on D&D Beyond Becomes Free to Use

I don't think they have one for "Magic" as such. They do have groups for various Magic formats – Commander and, I believe, Pauper.

    What is adventuring?

I disagree that you need to start adventuring, or at least start an RPG campaign, as a novice. You can, but you definitely don't have to. The hobbits in Lord of the Rings might be novices, but Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, and Gandalf certainly aren't. Amos Burton, Naomi Nagata, James...

What are your thoughts on roll-under/roll-high mechanics?

I like it for games that are... I guess you could call it "fundamentally human-sized", and which use opposed rolls a lot. For example, the Troubleshooters is a game where you play competent-but-normal people (like Tintin or Spirou), and uses the mechanic (with a d100 base), and additionally...

    D&D General Discworld alignments

I definitely wouldn't classify Granny as Lawful. I see her as either Chaotic or Neutral Good. Do the right thing, in this moment, law, tradition, and authority be damned. "You can't go around building a better world for people. Only people can build a better world for people. Otherwise it's just...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I don't see this all that often. What I do see is people sitting in the 1974 pizza shop and either complaining about the food, or bringing a bunch of their own toppings. and then someone asks why they're still in this pizza shop that clearly doesn't meet their needs, when there's another one...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Have you considered having people wrestle in them?

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

That is encouraging. I think the Malice storyline was a bit meh, personally, but it's encouraging that she's been reading up on the comics to the point where she knows random 80s plotlines.

    Problem with Bluesky links

In the thread about Visa/MC vs itch.io, one poster tried linking to this post on Bluesky. However, when he pasted the URL it turned some of the slashes into %2F, which makes the URL not work. It seems to work when I include it as a link like above, but not when putting the actual URL in the post...

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

    Bad URL, try this instead.

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

It's also hitting mainstream media now: Mastercard and Visa face backlash after hundreds of adult games removed from online stores Steam and Itch.io

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

But in this case it's not really the stores determining what they sell. It's an external force, in the form of Visa, Mastercard, and other PPCs, who are telling them "stop selling X or we'll cut you off." I don't have a problem with e.g. DTRPG refusing to carry RAHOWA. I would have an issue...

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

I don't know if she'll be around. They mentioned that one of the villains they had previously dealt with was Puppet Master, and Alicia is supposed to be his daughter. So unless they have analogues on Earth-199999* or are being brought along, we probably won't get Ben's and Alicia's relationship...

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

Itch is an online store that sells all sorts of stuff, both fiction, game books, and game software. And yes, I am making the case that a game featuring violent and evil acts shouldn't be treated any differently than a novel featuring said acts. And there's a big difference to various...

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

I have a distinct memory of one of my friends playing a monk/sorcerer of some sort and having planned their career quite far in advance. At one point he said "Just wait until level 11, then things will really kick in." (I believe because of a feat or PRC feature that allowed them to use Charisma...

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

Indeed, a matter of taste. I've generally been more into the soap aspects of ongoing comics and while the FF had less of this than the X-Men or Spider-Man, it's certainly been there. But it's wholly absent from this movie.

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

Sure, it's enough to tell the story. But it's not enough to give it depth. It felt very much like the Four, except for Ben, were in their own isolated bubble and never dealt with anyone else outside of holding speeches.

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

Sure, but there were pretty much no-one else. Everyone else was just background filler. Compare to, for example, Thor Ragnarok where you in addition to Thor have Loki, Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum, the Hulk, Bruce Banner, Heimdall, Hela, Skurge, Doctor Strange, Odin, Krog, and probably some other...

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

Thank you. I mostly made the assumption because she seemed to mostly act as a liaison between the FF and everyone else (like Mycroft Holmes). I wonder if she had a bigger role in some earlier version of the script because she was in the "big role" part of the credits before the mid-credits scene.

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

That's a very good point. The only ones we really see them interacting with is their black PA/secretary and, for Ben, the cute lady who isn't Alicia Masters. I don't think we see Johnny "The Playboy" Storm interact at all with anyone outside of the family and the Surfer.
