    D&D: The New Poker?

I have to agree with Umbran on this, as the upsurge in popularity of D&D is starting to be blown out of proportion a little bit. Do I come across more people who know what D&D is these days? Sure do, but that doesn't mean those people are playing D&D or watching D&D.

Second Dungeons & Dragons Product for Fall 2018: Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage

I'm excited for both of these books! In regards to yet another FR book, I can see both sides. I will say that the "you can get what you want on DriveThruRPG" argument would be a lot easier to swallow if the main campaign settings books were POD. I really enjoy the Forgotten Realms, so it is...

DDAL DDAL: Is It Organized Enough?

Do you think D&D Adventurers League is organized enough? One could argue that the free-form nature of DDAL has been what has led to it's success, but it seems hard to ignore the lack of structure compared to something like Pathfinder Society in terms of centralized reporting and general...

Flipping the Table: Did Removing Miniatures Save D&D?

I think it comes down to how you learn. There are visual learners and there are non-visual learners. I bet there is a correlation in there somewhere.

As a player: prefer Homebrew or Published settings?

Overall, I'd echo what others have said and say that I prefer a good DM above all else. That being said, I would say that I prefer playing (and DMing) in an emergent homebrew setting.

Dungeons & Dragons has 15 Million Players in NA Alone; Storyline Is "The Da Vinci Code meets Gangs o

That's very impressive and I'm not surprised at all! It would be interesting to know how they came to those numbers though.

Pathfinder 2 Playtest Preorders, Podcasts, & "Pathfinder 1.5"

Look at what? Doesn't 3.5 STILL come out over Pathfinder on Roll20?

Is 3.x Your Favorite Version of D&D?

With the design of 5th and the design snippets we have seen from Pathfinder 2.0, I am certainly starting to appreciate the 3.x rule set much more than I used to.

Latest PF2 Info On Theatre Of The Mind, PDF Timing, German Translations, & More

Yeah I listened to the podcast while at work today. Felt that the answer was. . .unsatisfactory. If that was truly the case then they would just sell the playtest copies at cost. I'm not objecting to the physical copies so much as I am objecting to their reasoning behind it. No biggy, I'm...

Latest PF2 Info On Theatre Of The Mind, PDF Timing, German Translations, & More

I guess my question is why even do physical playtest sales? It just seems very double-dip-ish to me. To then use the retailer/physical partnership as a reason for holding back the PDF release seems a little disingenuous to say the least. WotC didn't feel the need to produce a physical version...

    Pathfinder 2E At Gary Con

I guess that is kind of my point. Do they really NEED to release printed playtest books? No, they WANT to do so to ensure a little double-dipping for Pathfinder 2E adopters. I'm not begrudging them money, but it is clear as day that they are delaying the PDF release to build up anticipation...

    Pathfinder 2E At Gary Con

That seemed a little odd to me as well. I think it is because they want to maximise hype for the pre-orders.

Pathfinder 2E Paizo Announces Pathfinder 2nd Edition!

Meh. Ancestry. . .I needed a good laugh today! :) Good luck to Paizo and their fans though, I hope it is a success. *Goes back to his AD&D books that are older than he is* ------------- Edit: On further reflection, I'm being a bit of a jerk. In all honesty, I will probably pre-order the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Would you define the current edition of D&D rules-light or rules-heavy?

I voted rules heavy. I argue that 5E is a lot more granular than 1E and is a veritable morass compared to Basic, be it Holmes or Mentzer. I would definitely categorize it as medium, if the option was available, but rules light it is not.
