    Create an "Assassin"

If you're looking to kill something fast, a scry-and-fry Wizard would probably be best if the target isn't protected from divinations and teleportation. A spellcaster with one of the Skill Tricks and stuff like Still Spell, Silent Spell, and Eschew Materials can kill stuff while "hiding" in...

Help me create a munchkin character!

Be warned: simply posting this request on the CharOp boards will subject you to derision and flames or "Druid 15" (for good reason; they (and we here) are not your Character Factory and won't spend hard work on something you probably won't use). Be sure to read the posting guidelines and...

D&D 4E LAST CHANCE TO WIN FREE 4e Rulebooks DEADLINE JAN 30th!!! GET ENTRIES IN!!

Keep in mind my idea was only a suggestion, and Najo hasn't said anything about it. Also, I was meaning for it to apply only to voting. Najo, could you let me know if my submission was OK as far as rules and such, and did you want me to send you anything else?

    Possible houserules

Actually, natural armor is almost required for PCs to maintain viable levels of AC. Let's look at a random CR 11 creature: the Elder Air Elemental. This guy has a +27 attack bonus. Now let's see how much AC a level 11 character might have. The most would probably be a +3 Full Plate (+11), a...

    Mister Everything Build

By the way, Able Learner is required for Chameleon, Open Minded isn't very good, and Jack of All Trades is kind of a waste with Able Learner. So as far as a build, you can do something like this: Feat Rogue 1/Human Paragon 1/Cloistered Cleric 1/Human Paragon +2/Chameleon 9/Suel Arcanamach...

    Mister Everything Build

There's a great thread for Chameleon builds on the CharOp forum... which is down right now. I'll link it to you later. I actually want to play a Chameleon sometime, but unfortunately finding an online group that will allow it and plays when I'm free is the hard part :). Anyway, there are a...

EN World critique requested on my exp system

That's fine :). If you have awesome players, then a lot of the issues with a system can be ignored. If your players are cool with this system and are great enough to work out any potential issues with you and the other players without breaking the game, then just about any system can work :)...

    My player is squishing everything.

You know, the 2x equipment weight multiplier also has the side effect of preventing Enlarge Person from turning into Better But Situational Hold Person, Level 1 Spell. From a game balance perspective, I think this is the better interpretation.

Can a Swift/Immediate Action be Used as a Standard Action?

Arcane Spellsurge is from Dragon Magic. Basically, it reduces the time taken to cast all spells. Sorcerers normally have an advantage while using it because they can easily make their spells full-round actions by applying a metamagic feat to them, so they can easily cast two spells per round...

    My player is squishing everything.

IMO, he should take falling damage as usual, that is 1d6 per 10' with possible mitigation using Tumble and Jump. Making houserules to fix a perceived problem should be the last resort when it involves taking away a player's big tactic. However, you can rule that his victims should get either a...

Can a Swift/Immediate Action be Used as a Standard Action?

Remember, physics is a houserule. In game design, realism takes a back seat to game balance. There is at least one way that multiple swift actions in a round can be broken (Arcane Spellsurge), and I'm sure there are more. (Ooh I know, multiple Temporal Accelerations in a round!) If your...

Can a Swift/Immediate Action be Used as a Standard Action?

Arcane Spellsurge: all my spells are swift actions. Your example with Great Cleave holds no candle to this whatsoever. I'm sure it'll make the Celerity line much more broken as well. I swear there's a way to break it with Psionics, but I can't remember how exactly.

Can a Swift/Immediate Action be Used as a Standard Action?

I'm pretty sure allowing Swift actions like this can lead to infinite loops and other brokenness. Arcane Spellsurge, Greater Celerity, etc. Just stick with the 1 swift action per round unless you have a really good reason.

Interest Check: 3.5e High Powered One-Shot Series?

Objective: Create a series of one-shot games with rotating DMs so people can try out high-powered builds in challenging combats. Can be expanded to normal-powered builds in combat, or even full-on roleplaying sessions if there is enough interest in that (although I might not organize those)...

    Turn Undead Stacking

Let's say you pick up Turn Undead from both the Cleric class and the Paladin class. How do they stack? 1) You get two types of Turn Undead, and Cha+3 uses of each. One uses your Cleric class levels, and the other uses your Paladin class levels. 2) You only get one type of Turn Undead, and...

    Race with Charisma bonus?

I'm sure there's some elf with -2 Con and +2 Cha modifiers... *checks* Yup, that's the Star Elf. There's also the lesser outsiders. Here is a list of LA +0 races. Just search for "+2 Cha".

Mid-Air Legion of Sentinels: does it really work?

I actually asked WotC's customer help about this (actually, whether using it on the ground would create a dome), and they told me to look at the emanation picture in PHB which was no help at all  .
