D&D 4E Najo's D&D Challenge!!! FREE CONTEST: Break Power Attack REAL 4e PRIZES

What if I submit someone else's work? I know of the perfect entry, but it's not mine :). Perhaps the authors can receive the prize?

    MIC - Broken?

Rays and orbs are ranged touch attacks, and ranged touch attacks target a single creature. Otherwise, the metapsionic feat Chain Power becomes laughably awful instead of just awful: there would be no powers it can legally affect in the XPH/SRD.

    Balancing E6

Eh, I think you might as well leave the TWF-THF imbalance as it is, since the difference isn't huge. If you want, I guess you could try reducing the main hand TWF penalty to -1. The bigger worry is the inter-class imbalance. It's THF that's doing more damage, and I think TWF and THF are equal...

    [E6 Class] Dervish

    Looks good!

    [E6 Class] Dervish

I'd be reeaaaaal hesitant about totally eliminating the penalties for fighting with two weapons. If they have any way of adding extra damage to their attacks (probably with weapon enchantments from their friendly Bard/Wizard), their doubled attacks per round will really take advantage of that...

    Spiked chain question

Also, if you instead use a Guisarme + Spiked Gauntlet or Armor Spikes, you save a feat and you're almost as effective as a Spiked Chain fighter until higher levels (where a fighter really needs some help anyway).

    Stealth Attack

Grappling and Pinning? Maybe a feat that raises your grapple score when attacking from surprise?

    Stealth Attack

From the SRD on spell trigger items: Spell Trigger Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it’s even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken...

    Computer Dice rollers

A helpful way to think through things like this is to go for extremes (also good for stuff like the Monty Hall problem). Suppose you roll 3d6. Now, all of your dice have to come up 6, so the odds are small that this will happen. Suppose instead you roll (a billion)d6 take top 3. Obviously...

    Computer Dice rollers

Ahha! You quadruple-counted the 6, 6, 6, 6 possibility. So subtract (n-1) scenarios for success for each of your calculations. Hmm, correcting that is going to be a bit more complicated. Lemme think. OK, to correct it in general, you have to subtract the union and add in the unions of the...

    Computer Dice rollers

For 18, the calculation is much easier since the dice must be 6. For other numbers, you have to factor in the different ways they can add up to X. We can model it with the cumulative binomial distribution with k=2.5 (2.5=3-.5 to correct for discreteness), n= number of dice rolled, and p=1/6...

    Stealth Attack

    a) Game balance b) Someone who's flat-footed isn't defending himself. Someone who's flanked just has some trouble defending himself. There are abilities that trigger only off being flat-footed, and not off being flanked (like the Ninja's Sudden Strike). Maybe being flanked they can still...

No, they can't. They require command words.

    Stealth Attack

This seems really really good. Like "Target spellcaster can't cast most of the spells he knows" good. Oh, and it lasts a long time. And it can be applied to multiple people. Not sure how to fix it though :/. Even limiting it to a max of 1 round can make it a lock vs. casters.

    Balancing E6

Sneak Attack! I crunched some numbers for Rogues, because I was wondering if an SA-more or SA-anything ability would be broken, or if at least I should give them a SA replacement for immunes. I looked at TWF Weapon Finesse Rogues with Short Swords. So, without SA, Rogues do about 30% damage of...

    Fiery Wings of the Archangel

This is for E6. Character levels are capped at level 6, meaning you never get access to level 4+ spells.

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

Well, feats aren't worth as much in E6, so I certainly wouldn't replace the Point Buy adjustment with Feat Debt. Feat Debt in addition to the PB adjustment could be an idea, but it may be a bit clunky to use. Which feats would be used to pay off the debt? Some feats, for instance, can only be...

    Fiery Wings of the Archangel

So in E6, this spell has the following effects: 1) Gives you the option of touch attacks for 3d6 damage (6d6 vs. undead). Neither the Cleric nor the Sorcerer/Wizard get iterative attacks. I'm guessing TWF doesn't work with it, but you may want to specify that in the spell. Sounds a lot like...

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

The problem is, I don't want to be the one keeping the list updated :(. I don't think I'll have that much time to keep up with it.

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

The Balancing E6 thread can be found here, if you want someone to look over those feats. I can tell you right off though, I think your monk feat is weak :P. EDIT: By the way, does anyone want to make an E6 Feats thread in the houserules section and constantly update it with an index? Possibly...
