Old-school dungeon crawl using 5e playtest rules

I'm still about, but my one idea about breaking the curse didn't work! I believe the PC centipede has a clue to of some sort... Would it be possible for our DM to take brief control of them and drop a hint, just to get us going?

    Dwimmermount IC:

(OOC I'm open to any other ideas as well, not quite sure how we get them fighting at the moment... who's the fastest runner? 😁)

    Dwimmermount IC:

Jimi nods, and says quietly to the Dwarves and mage, "So, six of the little beasts. We would be outnumbered. Perhaps we need a strategy..." he thinks for a moment. "Perhaps we could draw their attention and funnel them into a narrow passageway, where they can't bring their full numbers to bear."...

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Prologue

[OOC: Erevan stealth = 22, Renestrae stealth = 13 / Erevan perception = 16, Renestrae perception = 9] Erevan and Renestrae quickly and quietly clamber up between the rocks - their movement is muffled by the sounds of the river and they remain out of sight. You reach the top of the mound and...

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Prologue

Mirtul 3, DR 1373, Mid Morning You all follow the trail upriver. There are obvious gnoll tracks and signs of something being dragged - perhaps one of the animals the beasts caught in their traps. The trees get thicker and denser as you travel deeper into the woods. The river begins to narrow...

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Prologue

[OOC: Can I assume everyone is following the trail upriver?]

    Dwimmermount IC:

"Hold up a moment" Jimi whispers to the group, "Torchlight... something, or someone, is up ahead. Klyman, you're the stealthiest and nimblest of us all - why don't you go and take a look?"

    Dungeon Raiders: The Wolf's Den

Tock turns his head away from the paintings upon hearing the arguments and commotion in the centre of the room. He slowly approaches the hovering shield, being careful not to touch it. Slowly, he speaks. "Curses go in circles... wards against thieves... so if these insects were thieves, who...

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Prologue

Nothing untoward happens as you pick up a few of the necklaces. They are practically worthless, being little more than some rocks on a string, but they do seem to have had some significance to the kobolds.

    Dwimmermount IC:

Jimi nods in agreement with the thief. "Perhaps we could explore just a little further, Klyman... and then, Midgrim, we might recuperate near the entrance as you suggest." he says. The haul of gold has buoyed Jimi's spirits, and he too feels a little more enthusiastic about further exploration...

    Dwimmermount IC:

Jimi quickly turns back from the corridor when he hears the commotion. Holding his lantern high, he sees the unmistakable gleam of gold and silver as the two Dwarves begin to empty the alcove. A smile creeps across his face. "Gold, you say? Excellent!" he hustles over to rejoin the group and...

    Dungeon Raiders: The Wolf's Den

Tock feels out of his depth with talk of curses, magic, and transformations. Walking slowly around the edge of the room, he starts looking at the images on the walls of the chamber to see if there might be anything of interest.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Prologue

Rolen takes the limp body of the sleeping weasel and lays it down gently, a short distance away. As you roll the creature out of the torn shirt you notice it has a brand of some sort on it's hind quarters - the Draconic letter 'C'. You also notice that the creature has a small bracelet around...

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Prologue

We could easily drop out of initiative sequence and go back to free form posting as the combat is over (for the next minute at least)? I didn't know if Kerri had something specific in mind for the weasel though.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Prologue

[OOC: Kerri is up next, I assumed you might want to revise your original action (Animal Friendship spell) as the weasel is now asleep?]

    Tyranny of Dragons

Oops, I didn't spot this either. But we'll go with epicbob's idea, and say that the area of effect only catches the weasel and Rolen - who as an Elf, is immune. Kerri was close as well but we'll assume Robert targets the spell to not include her.

    Dwimmermount IC:

Jimi turns and glances over his shoulder when he hears Midgrim mention the key. "A key? Good job, Midgrim. Was it left here by those Kobolds, or is it of Dwarven make? Might give us some clue as to what it will unlock... and if it's hidden here, does it make sense to think that whatever lock...

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Prologue

As Robert finishes his spell, the thrashing and struggling stops. The only noises coming from the weasel are a barely audible but peaceful breathing. It's safe to assume it's now sleeping deeply, at least until the magic expires. If you are careful with your handling, you should be ok to open...

    Tyranny of Dragons

I interpreted Renestrae's 'delay' as 'I'll take an action against the weasel if Kerri's spell fails' or something to that effect.
