    D&D 4th Edition Next Year?

Since they have no playtester credits for 3.5, one would assume they did no playtesting. This is borne out by the fact that the "new and improved" 3.5 has more flaws than the original 3.0.

    D&D 4th Edition Next Year?

Agreed but I would change the timetable slightly because everyone knows WoTC doesn't play test. Aug, 2005 - Nov, 2005 - Mike Mearls finalizes and polishes the 4E work that has been going on since 3.5 debuted. Dec 2005 - 4E debuts

D&D Magic -- how would you fix it?

Replace wizards, sorcerers, rangers, paladins, bards with the cleric and figthers, barbarians, monks, rogues with the druid. Oh wait there's no need to do that. Our esteemed 3.5 designers have already done it for us.

Epic Level more popular than Psionics?

I can't believe that Epic is more popular than psionics. Epic is broken but psionics isn't. More psionic adventures please.

D&D 2: Movie review (Minor spoilers)

Oops sorry, didn't look to see if there was a movie forum. Moderators if you feel you need to move this thread please do so.

D&D 2: Movie review (Minor spoilers)

For a brief and slightly inaccurate teaser please refer to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406728/plotsummary. For the record, I thought the first D&D movie was an insult to D&D fans everywhere and so atrocious it is was at times hilariously funny. If my expectations of D&D2 was any lower, it...

Is the Rules Forum Becoming the Variant Rules Forum?

Or it could be that our new and improved 3.5 have stuffed the rules up so much that people don't know what the rules are trying to say. Hence they make up stuff.

Is the Rules Forum Becoming the Variant Rules Forum?

Because people get confused with what should be and what is.

    [D&D]"Complete" books: worth it?

No. Except Complete Adv. All the others have too many broken material. Especially stay away from Complete Divine.

    Epic Spells

It's still broken because this means that clerics and druids are better epic spellcasters than wizards because they have access to all epic spells whilst wizards and sorcerers are restricted. Scratch that clerics and druids are better spellcasters than wiz/sorcs anyway so I guess it doesn't matter.

    Epic Spells

Epic Spellcasting (actually anything epic) is completely broken. I don't even know where to begin to salvage it. Epic Spellcasting is craptastic for everything except 1 thing and that one thing makes Epic Spellcasting broken. Sure sign of poor playtesting.

Why do 3E clerics get such good press?

Clerics are the best because they along with druids are favoured by the designers. In any splatbook you buy you're almost guranteed to find broken materials for the cleric and druid.

My thoughts on WOTC saying "we'll give you a leat a years notice" saying at GenCon.

All it took was an NPC to say "Blasphemy" and we went back to 3.0 with minor tweaks to Heal, Harm and Haste.

Is Wall of Thorns as utterly broken as it seems to be?

What? This is unpossible. I mean we got this new and improved 3.5 and everything.
  15. B

Is Wall of Thorns as utterly broken as it seems to be?

Because the designers didn't play test their product at all and got their rules mixed up?

Is Wall of Thorns as utterly broken as it seems to be?

The same issue arose with Persistent Spell. WoTC still had to nerf the core cleric spells that Persistent affected. Although they didn't finish the job. How can they, that would be mean that their favourite classes would be balanced.

Is Wall of Thorns as utterly broken as it seems to be?

This is not true of PCs at 1st level because that's when this spell is available to druids.

Is Wall of Thorns as utterly broken as it seems to be?

It's a druid spell what do you expect? Something balanced?
