Pathfinder 1E Free RPG Day Swag - Eberron, Pathfinder Bestiary, Geist RPG

We fully endorse conversion of material between editions. If you want to use our stuff for 4th Edition, more power to you! We don't "hate" the new edition, we just prefer a different style of play. Lots and lots of players convert our material to many different systems. As long as you get...

    Let's read the entire run

Please do keep posting these! I am really enjoying the series, and I'm especially eager to get into the issues during the period when I started reading the magazine regularly, which starts in a couple of issues. Very interesting so far! --Erik

Buck Rogers XXVc wasn't that bad a game.

Interesting. I'd never heard of that before. Any connection to what became Cyborg Commando? That sounds kind of similar in concept. --Erik

Buck Rogers (Forked Thread: Lorraine Williams did... what?)

That Sci-Fi (ahem)... SyFy show would have been a lot better and lasted a lot longer if it had stayed more faithful to the original subject matter. It was a laughable disgrace that didn't even deserve to air as long as it did. Just terrible.

    Appendix N Reading List

Thanks for including Paizo's edition of Leigh Brackett's The Sword of Rhiannon on this list. I think it's the most "D&D" of any of her books. If you are looking for a more accessible Manly Wade Wellman volume, I suggest "Who Fears the Devil?", which we are releasing this November. I strongly...

Pathfinder 1E All Bard group, Pathfinder, Freeport, Sword and Sorcery style, with Castle Greyhawk

Thanks to Jaerdaph for reminding me that I edited and published this game about four years ago, when it was called HiJinx. I love to "retro D&D" spin you have here, though. This sounds like a lot of fun!

Pathfinder 1E All Bard group, Pathfinder, Freeport, Sword and Sorcery style, with Castle Greyhawk

Bringing back Comeliness would seem an appropriate step. You've also got to use the opportunity to table-test Gygax's Random Harlot table. That seems a natural fit, so to speak.

    Lorraine Williams did... what?

To complicate matters further, the character was not called "Buck" Rogers until the comic strip. I'm not sure that the brand would have the staying power it does if it had been called "Anthony Rogers," which was the character's name in the original Amazing Stories tales. --Erik

3.5 high level woes and Paizo's hand in it.

3.5 high level woes and Paizo's hand in it.

I think both the White Wolf systems and second edition AD&D have a strong "free wheelin'" on-the-fly appeal to them. That itch is best scratched by Call of Cthulhu round these parts. And it wouldn't take much to pull me into a FASERIP game.

3.5 high level woes and Paizo's hand in it.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, TCO. I have a better understanding of where you're coming from, and it was nice to read a post that didn't seem to hold Pathfinder or its fans in a highly negative regard. I appreciate that. I hope that even in the height of edition wars we can realize that we...

Pathfinder on the bookstore shelves? Forked Thread: The 3.5 renaissance!

Borders is experiencing major financial difficulties at the moment. They're looking for a buyer, and in the mean time they've vastly trimmed down their offerings. I wouldn't expect much from them until everything gets sorted out (the latest rumor is that the Canadian chain Chapters/Indigo is...

Pathfinder on the bookstore shelves? Forked Thread: The 3.5 renaissance!

We've been working pretty hard to get our books into bookstores, but there are a couple of inherent challenges. The first is our frequency. We release one Adventure Path volume, one Chronicles setting product, and either a 32-page Pathfinder Module or Pathfinder Companion player's supplement...

3.5 high level woes and Paizo's hand in it.

Well, as long as we're painting with broad brushes, I'll say that the people who seem most critical of what we're doing are the ones who think the entire system must be destroyed in order to make it any fun at all. Obviously, both "camps" (are they camps?) are a little strung out on hyperbole...

3.5 high level woes and Paizo's hand in it.

Jason would be a better person to answer this, but from what I have read and played so far I'd say that the biggest changes come from additional combat options for warrior types (usually accessed through feats) that allow them to stay "competitive" with their spellcasting brethren and a LOT of...

3.5 high level woes and Paizo's hand in it.

A fair amount of Jason's time has been spent on this issue post-Beta, and we just completed the high level portion of the playtest, which resulted in numerous changes and modifications. These are, to some extent, patches rather than complete rewrites, however, as the game is meant to update 3.5...

    Monte Cook's new Dungeonaday.com?

We're getting closer! Jason Bulmahn's primary design on the Pathfinder RPG is over, and the book is now in layout and editing. In a little more than a month, it will be at the printer! --Erik Mona Publisher Paizo Publishing, LLC
