Amazon has a buy 3 for the price of 2 deal, and it includes The Game Master's Book of Non-Player Characters, Kobold Press's Tome of Beasts, PF2e Advanced Player's Guide, Lost Omens: The Mwangi Expanse, Art & Arcana, plus most (if not all) of the D&D 5e books. And a bunch of other stuff, of...

    D&D 5E (2014) "If They Have a Name They Get Death Saves. . ."

We basically learned this rule in the first edition of Feng Shui, where "unnamed characters" were explicitly mooks that were easy to dispose of, and "named characters" were much tougher. "Don't ask what the minions names are!" was the rule. (The players were fighting some mooks, and for no...

What's your favorite superhero TTRPG and why?

My favorite is still Mutants & Masterminds (specifically, 2nd edition). As to why I love it, I think Kenson & co. hit the perfect spot for me (given that I spent time in high school geometry class writing up Champions characters from memory). (I kind of want an M&M edition that's based on 5e -...

D&D General Miniatures shouldn't be edition-dependent (a Fire Giant size rant)

FWIW, not all 3e giants are Large - so you can use the huge fire giant mini for some kind of weird cloud or storm giant. Maybe one pretending to be the high king of fire giants, or something. Or use it for that fire giant high priest with righteous might. Also, look for Pathfinder 1e miniatures...

Critical Role Explorer's Guide to Wildemount Review

FWIW, I noticed that the orc race's traits are different from the Volo's Guide orc - they're the same as the Eberron orc, except for the age range.

Shadowrun Sixth World Core Rulebook Review

For me, Catalyst isn't good at editing or refining stuf. I thought 4e was almost great, and if 5e had been a refinement of 4e, I would have been deliriously happy. Instead, they added limits & the like, and basically replaced problem areas with new problem areas. I'm afraid 6e sounds like it's...

Paizo To Make Kingmaker Bestiary... For D&D 5E!

I would love a 5e bestiary for Skull & Shackles. Even better, WotC and Paizo can collaborate to release 5e Greyhawk, with Age of Worms and/or Savage Tides as part of that.

    Shadowrun Sixth Edition Announced!

Also, in Complex Action's 6e preview video (I think that's where I saw it, at least), they said something about wired reflexes and such giving extra Minor actions, and being able to trade in 4 Minor actions for a Major action - so wired up samurai should still be able to shoot multiple people...

Top Games Played On FG In 2018: D&D, Pathfinder, Savage Worlds

I believe Taliesin ran a weird Vampire the Masquerade one-shot - well, two-shot, technically, IIRC. Yeah, here's the first part: https://youtu.be/DTOGH6M6INE IIRC, the game has an even looser relationship with the nominal rules than usual.
