    Criticisms of 5e

I house ruled 4e to let people buy & break skill groups during character generation; I'll probably do the same in 5e, if we ever get around to playing it. I like awesome PCs. :)

Ask the Shadowrun line developer stuff

IIRC, they're working with CoolMiniOrNot on the minis. And now I shall continue Abstruse's numbering: 6) If I recall correctly, CMON is known for some wildly successful Kickstarter campaigns (Sedition Wars, Relic Knights, etc); is Sprawl Gangers going to go through Kickstarter? 7) When can I...

    This is Shadowrun!

Yeah, I ran a couple of short SR 1e games in '89 and after, and played some (including the beginning of this one adventure involving this new-ish religious sect, that led to the GM having to come up with insecticide stats on the fly), ran a 2e game that ran into early 3e (but I don't remember if...

    Criticisms of 5e

I could still play some games, take pictures, record things, etc. More to the point, the headset/speakers/other devices plugged into it would still work. But what I'm talking about is having two devices -- one for your PAN, one to connect to the world. Nah, skinlinks are on p. 328 of SR4A...

    This is Shadowrun!

And after the events described by Abstruse, you throw your dice across the room and get new ones. Nine 1s out of 16 dice?!? argh! :-S (Okay, maybe that's just some of the folks I game with.) PS: are there Limits for resistance or reactive rolls? For example, does the hotel clerk have a limit...

    Criticisms of 5e

So is there a reason why can't you slave everything to a "commlink" that's not actually linked to the larger world? Why connect your personal network to the world network/Matrix? you should be able to run two commlinks; one an actual commlink, tied to the Matrix; the other isolated, and to just...

    Lone Ranger

I liked it, myself. Silver stole the show, though.

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

Re: Sagiro's Story Hour: The Further Adventures of Abernathy's Company (updated 4/12/13) Yeah, in D&D, insanity is modeled by Wisdom damage and drain, and Far Realms critters are all about inducing madness. They're positively Cthulhu-esque about it. Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 2

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

I'm going with either Sagiro, or the Spanish Inquisition.

Rin Con recap in Tucson AZ.

Lords of Waterdeep has been very popular with my group. It's not too long, it's a lot of fun, and we've not had any real runaway games (where one person was clearly the winner long before the game was over). The last game, I won fairly convincingly, but we had another game where it looked like...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo's Ultimate Equipment book...

Saving their pennies to pay for their burials? ;) The folks in my PF group are the opposite -- they'll spend every last coin on gear, then find out they need to get somewhere and don't have money to buy a mount/book passage on a ship, find out they'll be needing some item or substance and not...

A Rose In The Wind: A Saga of the Halmae -- Updated June 19, 2014

Say, is it time for a bump? Then let this be a complimentary bump. Fajitas, besides the awesome game, great job on Leverage this year. Frame-Up & K-Street were terrific. Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 2

Future of D&D Keynote Speech [UPDATE - with video!]

If they released stuff in .mobi or .epub, they would have to reformat everything. Since they're basically talking about decades of products, most of those products wouldn't exist as electronic files, meaning there'd be a lot of work. I can't see that being a profitable enterprise, really...

A Rose In The Wind: A Saga of the Halmae -- Updated June 19, 2014

Yikes! That's a nasty fight. Can't wait to see how it turns out. So, is the game still going on in July 2012?

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

My players were always flustered when they got attached while wind walking, torn between dismissing the spell to quickly fight back (while losing the spell) vs maintaining the spell for further use, but sucking up the long change time. It was always a little amusing, in an evil GM kind of way...

    D&D Movie/TV Dungeons & Dragons 3 Movie Trailer

If only there was someone Wizards could contact to turn the Fell's Five comics into some kind of movie. But where would they find a good screenwriter familiar with D&D in general and those characters in particular? :hmm:

    [June] What Are You Reading?

Right now, reading Death's Heretic, by James Sutter. I finished Tales of the Far West a couple of days ago, and now I'm really looking forward to checking out the RPG when it comes out. Seems like a fun setting. Hmm, I seem to be on an RPG-tie-in fiction binge.
