Los Angeles - Quest of the Sorcerer King

The Sorcerer King has grown weary of the Prime Material plane. He wishes to abdicate his throne and explore other dimensions. He has no heir, but realizes it his duty to pick a successor. To this end, he has designed a grand quest. The person who completes it will have acquired the wisdom and...

[Community] Iridia 60 Is In The Mail

Iridia No. 60; D&D 3.5/ Basic D&D This week I get things started with a discussion of some new miniatures I found. I will eventually share more about them in a later issue, but suffice it to say, I can finally finish my ruins of Brin terrain project. Iron Rations continues, picking up from last...

WotC: Goodbye, Loren Greenwood, hello Greg Leeds

I'd like to see the new guy get D&D back into toy stores (Toys 'R Us) like it used to be back in the 80's. The more mainstream exposure, the better.

Iridia 59 Is Locked and Loaded

Iridia No. 59; D&D 3.5/ Basic D&D In the introduction I note the passing of Gary Gygax, pausing to pour a 40 on the curb for the master DM. The Iron Rations series continues! In this installment a desperate halfling, Gimble Tuffney, implores the party to deliver his village from a plague of...

    D&D 4E Initiative in 4E

I wouldn't mind if actions were broken down into smaller chunks. On your turn you can do 1 thing. Move or attack or cast a spell or drink a potion, etc. I'd like that.

An alternate version of half-orc reproduction

This is an intriguing idea. It reminds me of the golinization from Shadowrun. Very cool.

"...you all meet at an inn.."

If the DM is going to take the time to craft adventures and to tailor world events, then I'm all for joint character creation. If the DM relies solely upon store-bought modules and flavor text, then it really doesn't matter what the party composition is. Heck, a character doesn't even need a...

    Strongholds?

That sounded like an epic game. What couldn't you have done? Eh, too bad.

Condition track - wishful thinking, rumor or confirmed?

I didn't say that. I said that I do not want a system that penalizes character for low hit points. There's a difference.

Condition track - wishful thinking, rumor or confirmed?

D&D is about being able to hack through foes with a dozen arrows stuck if your chest. I don't want a mechanic that penalizes PCs for low hit points. When I want that, I play GURPS.

Have A Banner Ad You Need Hosted?

While I'm at it.... Iridia No. 58; D&D 3.5 We linger in Greyhawk for another week. Within the pages of this issue you will meet Hilda Mogh, a wretched hag who despises everything and everyone. Hilda is an adept, who draws upon the dark energies that surround Oerth. She lives with her three sons...

    Part 2 of Tsjocanth

Oh, cool. Where is she by the way? I always thought that Vecna making his comeback with an Iggwilv resurgence would mix things up again. Shoot, Iggwilv reunited with her son Iuz would be a gruesome twosome!

    Part 2 of Tsjocanth

Does the module provide any hints as to where Iggwilv might be residing? if I remember correctly, she's not dead. I think she was detailed in a Dragon mag. Perhaps I'll go on EBay and try to find it.

Have A Banner Ad You Need Hosted?

Hello everyone, I am interested in hosting banners in exchange for a copy of one of your company's products. Print or .pdf, it really doesn't matter. I'm just looking to network, better utilize my domain and perhaps find some new reading material! www.IridiaZine.net doesn't get a ton of...

Generic Universe Publishing-New Kid on the Block

Yes! Those were great! I also loved Flying Buffalo's Grimtooth Traps. The entire line had a pretty decent graphical presentation, I think.

Generic Universe Publishing-New Kid on the Block

Looks great, my man. Back in the day there was an awesome line of supplements that detailed generic town and city sites. They had great maps, good illos and plenty of useful flavor text. I can't remember what they were called, though. Dammit. Needless to say, they are long out of print, so I...

DMG to include a "starter town".

I like the idea. I'm interested in seeing what mix of races, classes, level and wealth the developers come up with. It should give me a good idea of what a D&d 4e community might look like.

Feisty Gnomes and Talking Books in Iridia 57

Iridia No. 57; D&D 3.5/GURPS 4e We return to the World of Greyhawk this week. In Iridia 20 a little gnome by the name of Schepni was introduced. In this issue he is given a more thorough introduction. His stat block is included, as well as a map to his burrow. On the back page is a sentient...

Sorry to hear about Lt. Dan. :( I bet he was a great writing assistant.

I just realized what bugs me about Warlords . . .

I think that Warlords should be called. "Master Warlord of the Dragon's Tail Cut." It's an awesome name that's full of WIN!1. Seriously, I can imagine a first level warlord. With the first bit of gold he gets, he hires a few lvl1 warriors or eager commoners to follow him around as assistants...
