    Iridia Offers Inexpensive Advertising Options

Hello again, I wanted to share with you an example half-page interior ad that is ideal, just to give you an idea of what might work. Also, I will be sure to highlight any company who advertises with Iridia in the monthly podcast. Each podcast is downloaded - on average - 40 times a month for 6...

OSR What is OSRIC and Hackmaster

There's an Actual Play thread at rpg.net about a Hackmaster campaign. The thread captures the humor of which you speak. I find it really, really enjoyable. :) Here's the link if anyone is interested: [Hackmaster] Strike the Earth! - RPGnet Forums

Blowing Up A Game In A Good Way

Thanks, man. I hardly ever get a chance to run a PC, so when I do...I go for it! :)

Blowing Up A Game In A Good Way

The half-orc was buried in a nearby forest. An impressive magic sword that we wielded - Shatterspike - was buried by his side. He cam back with a spiked chain fighter, who eventually got torn apart by a massive, four-armed gorilla thing. Oh well. The bard continued to be an xp leach...

Blowing Up A Game In A Good Way

Have you ever witnessed a PC disrupt a campaign in a good way? I'm wondering about masterful betrayals, spectacular deaths and other amazing flameouts. Here's mine. I was playing a wizard who was very close to the half-orc fighter in our group. The half-orc had saved my skin on many, many...

We don't have the 15 Minute Adventure Day Problem

I once read something to the effect of, "People who are happy in their gaming could care less about 99% of the stuff bandied about on message boards." So true...

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

Great suggestion. The model definitely needs a base. I really need practice with static grass and/or flock. It's art unto itself. Thanks for checking in. :)

    Columns You Want To See

Oh man, that sounds tempting. If I wasn't so busy with my own, I'd definitely help. :)

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

The tower is complete! I am happy with the way it came out. The will serve as a nice focal point for the PCs' battle with the followers of Hextor. If I build another tower, there are a few things I will do differently. The foam core I used for the roof of the tower was a poor choice. When glue...

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

I glued the stair together and filled in the gaps with spackle. I then painted the stairs with using the same technique used to paint the walls. Placed beneath the door, I can see that they are looking pretty good. Next, I need to put the roof on the tower, then I'll be done.

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

I painted the tower with a coat of dark gray paint, then drybrushed with Fortress Gray and Space Woves Gray. Again, both paints are available from Games Workshop for $3.50. If I had to this over, I definitely would have spray painted the model with a gray primer first. The nooks and crannies...

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

While waiting for the spackle to dry, I made a wee front door. I think that next time I will make hinges for some added detail. . I needed to make some steps to access the front door. To keep with the theme of stone being sculpted into a tower by magical energy, I used Sculpey ($2) to make...

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

The tower I am building was constructed by a wizard to house a magical portal. With that in mind, I spent a lot of time thinking about the exterior of the building. I thought about layering the tower in paper squares to simulate stone blocks. Instead, I thought I'd try something different. I...

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

I painted the tower's roof with a base coat of Bestial Brown, then dry brushed with Snakebite Leather and Commando Khaki. All three paints are available from Games Workshop for $3.50 each.

    Columns You Want To See

I always liked the Role of Books column from way back. i liked reading reviews of good fantasy/sci-fi novels. A long time ago, Dragon used to run reviews of miniatures. The column was always intelligent and well-written. In my own feeble way, the "I dream in 25mm." column in Iridia seeks to...

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

While waiting for the paint to dry, I got to work on the tower's roof. I cut out a piece of foam core and painted it black. The black will look good if there are any gaps between the boards. For floorboards, I cut some thin strips of balsa. I sanded the edges and staggered them to look like a...

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

Hey Rowport, The battle will most likely unfold in two phases. 1) The minions of the cleric will wade forth, attempting to storm the stairs outside the tower and batter down the door. 2) A fierce battle inside the tower as either the warrior or cleric gain entry. The tower will be used for...

    Tower Construction (pic heavy)

The players will inevitably pick up the tower and peek through the windows. So that the interior tape, glue and cardboard isn't visible, I paint the interior with an inexpensive black acrylic paint. ($2).
