    The 2006 EMMY Awards

All that time, money, detail, and effort, and no Emmies to hand Battlestar Galactica. Shame. Perhaps there should be categories for Best Science Fiction Series or Best Visual Effects? All the same, though. I find the acting on the show to be "pretty good" at best, with only the guy playing...

    Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

So, you found neither "Hell Hath Fury" nor "Skipper The Eye Child" (my personal favorite from the series) to hold humour? Well, I suppose it's a case of "to each his own". But hey, I'll give you credit for at least "trying" to like it! :) I just hope the show generates enough of a following...

    Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

It's interesting. Episode 6 was way more dramatic than funny, yet still achieved a score higher than the other episodes. To me, 6 was a real departure from the others as it attempted to paint some depth for the two lead characters. Also, it was strangely risky in it's use of broccolli...

Stargate Altantis Season 3 *Discussion Thread* 8/25

I'm not quite sure about this. They've effectively reduced the "fear factor" of the Wraith by enabling their life-drain to be reversible. Was this a mistake?

Wow! That's a lot better than I did with most of an hour, a dictionary, and some random Internet anagram generator! Great work, Quickleaf! Your puzzle is now a perfect 10/10!

"Only the purest in heart and most tremendous in merit may face the King." 1) "purest in heart"......take the E-R-T from "purest" out of "heart." 2) "most tremedous in merit"......take the M-E-R-T from "most tremendous" out of "merit." Are we done? ;)

    A Puzzle

OK, grammatically & linguistically, this makes sense for the puzzle: "Only the purest in heart and temporal of merit shall face the king." This works because M-E-R-T in "temporal" can be found in "merit". Also, the "I" is excluded. Unfortunately, I don't think "temporal of merit" means very much!

    A Puzzle

Yes, I'd definately do this: "Only the purest in heart and humblest of merit." EDIT: I just realized.....this might not work! Why? Because "merit" doesn't just contain an "I", but also a "me"! TWO NON-HUMBLE THINGS! :heh: I'm afraid this puzzle will take a few headaches and at least one...

    A Puzzle

No, thank you! But would Mr. Spock agree with this? :p Actually, it's the whole M-E-R-T thing that threw me. I think that would be a dead giveaway as, grammatically, it's a bit awkward. "Purest in heart" is good. However, I'd see if there was a better word than "commanding" to put...

    A Puzzle

"commanding in merit"....... Is it this?! The only letters from "commanding" that can be found in "merit" are M and I. However, as mentioned before, there clearly is not an "I" pillar. Therefore, we have to actually SUBTRACT these letters from "merit". Now, if "merit" was spelled as...

    A Puzzle

Yes! I think the fact that "The Ka of the King is immortal" having 7 words is definitely interesting and could lead a bunch of folks to certain death. Optionwise, it's a 7/10. The dialogue, drama, names, and history you've got going are top notch, 10/10! Logicwise, I'm still trying to figure...

    A Puzzle

If this is the case, then I'll have to go with the following, though I don't fully understand the logic behind the final letters consisting of M-E-R-T...... Here' my 2nd guess: E-R-T, as these letters can be found in both "purest" and "heart", followed by M-E-R-T, as these letters can be...

    A Puzzle

If this holds true, I'll amend my 3rd guess to: H-E-O-F-E-R-T

    A Puzzle

Here' my 2nd guess: E-R-T, as these letters can be found in both "purest" and "heart", followed by M-E-R-T, as these letters can be found in "merit". Put them together and we get 7 letters: E-R-T-M-E-R-T Here's my 3rd guess: "The Ka of the King is immortal." The Ka of the King is...

    A Puzzle

NOTE: Instead of "commanding in merit my face the king", think of it as letters from "commanding" in the words "merit my". There's something about the letters in "merit my" that relate to the letters in "commanding", but I haven't quite got it.

    A Puzzle

"Only the purest in heart" So, we use the R and the E and the T, as these letters from "purest" are the only ones found in "heart". "And commanding in merit" Only the M and the I from the word "commanding" can be found in "merit". At this point, we have the following: R E T M I...

Doctor Who Season 29 - What do you want to see?

Well, now that SG-1 is toast, perhaps the Sci-Fi Channel could negotiate with the BBC towards developing an American version of Doctor Who, with McGann as the Doctor! If done right, that would rule!

1st edition modules to make a complete campaign

Here's a better one: "The allied forces were closing upon the stronghold of evil creatures, a huge, walled fortress known as the Temple of Elemental Evil, not far from the unfortunate village of Hommlet, when elven scouts reported that a huge army was approaching from the south." (Gygax...
