Player's Handbook II (and other May releases)

For me, absence of cash = evil Yes, due to my extreme absence of cash, I don't own any books featuring core classses/races beyond the PHB I. That's why (if WotC does it the way I want them to) I'm really looking forward to the PHB II.

Player's Handbook II (and other May releases)

 I'll have you know, I first brought the subject up in February! Although not in the guise of "WotC will soon be releasing PHB II", but "WotC SHOULD release a PHB II". I sincerely hope they *do* reprint all the core classes & races previously released in their Complete series books...

Is there such a thing as an undead troll???

Hey guys, thanks for all the expert feedback on my question! Obviously, I was under the impression that once a troll reached negative hit points it just goes on regenerating until it becomes alive again. I guess I was incorrect, no?

Is there such a thing as an undead troll???

I was thinking about this the other day. In that a troll keeps regenerating until its body has been consumed by flame or acid, would any circumstances yield an undead troll?

    ability roll cheating

I stopped "rolling" my stats years ago. These days, I begin with the character concept as a piece of mental energy and assign numbers from there. Armed with the knowledge that a character with 6 "18s" would be dreadfully boring and 6 "3s" dreadfully useless, I simply think of appropriate numbers...

Products You'd Like WoTC to do

I'd like a PHB II featuring all the new core classes introduced in all the "Complete" books, along with all the new races.

    Flaws for Dumb orc

Does this mean my wheel-for-a-foot idea is out?

    Flaws for Dumb orc

He was formerly the test subject of some evil mechamage. The result? He's missing his left foot. In its place is a wheel. He takes a step with his right leg/foot, then rolls twice the distance with his left leg/wheel. Thus, his movement rate is 1.5 times that of other orcs. OK, not so much a...

So you've played a ghoul, have you?

Oh, I see! So.......how does one become a ghast and not cause wretching and nausea to one's non-ghast (or ghoul) comrades?

So you've played a ghoul, have you?

    Thanks! Erm.....what're "LM" and "RAW"???

So you've played a ghoul, have you?

It's been mentioned a few times on these boards that because ghouls are intelligent creatures, it's possible to play one as a character. My question is this: In that a ghast is basically the same thing as a ghoul (but stenchier!), is the only thing that prevents a player from choosing a ghast...

    Power Gaming

And the powergamer is prevented from obtaining a replacement bastard sword by.......? No. Using your brain to make things more interesting involves using your brain to make things more interesting! This *could* entail EITHER my ideas OR yours. Or someone elses. Regardless, simply telling a...

    Power Gaming

No, none of what you said. It's simply making the game more challenging/interesting/balanced for all involved. And it's actually rewarding the *powergamer's* thoughts with similar thoughts. In my view, it's a lot more appropriate than simply saying "no" and it's far more creative than having the...

    Power Gaming

I'm with you on this one, but I fear we're in the vast minority! Yes, the *powergamer* has put a great deal of mental energy into crafting his/her character. However, when DMs have to deal with powergamers, which of the following is the most likely outcome? 1) Applying a similar amount of...

    Power Gaming

Solution A: The bastard sword gets stolen in the night! This actually serves two purposes: 1) A scenario is developed where the characters have to chase the thief(s) who took the sword and 2) no more (at least for the duration!) uneven fighting abilities within the party. Solution B...
