Law and Chaos gone? Good Riddance!

ah, but then we enter into theological and biological debates... :P if you took a tiger puppy the day it was born, could you raise it as a cat? all the examples clearly say that no, the tiger puppy would still retain quite a bit of aggressivity, as if it was in-bulit in its genes. can you raise...

Law and Chaos gone? Good Riddance!

well, 3e PHB is not a philosophy manual, and neither it is historically accurate to flesh out ancien régime societies. just look at the original meaning of the word "revolution". it had a strong tie with the astronomical meaning, because it was seen as something needed to restore the "logical"...

i don't know... the OGL was a stroke of genius. otherwise, while many other companies without anything like the OGL "look the other way", i doubt everyone would act that way, especially if adviced by dumb lawyers that don't appreciate the importance of having raving fans that put on websites...

i think that is a bit too harsh, francisca. first of all, she didn't have to have any creative contribution, because she was a manager, not a game developer (and if her managerial ineptitude is any hint of her creative skills, i'm very happy she had very little input on the creative work! :P)...

    what's you're favourite TSR/ WotC setting?

it's interesting to see that forgotten realms 3e is pretty much the only setting in which a revision is almost as popular as the original release. if this trend continues when more people have voted, i think it would be interesting to have another poll on how people see revisions of a campaign...

i don't think that sexism has anything to do with this story. maybe one or two of the main "players" (i'm talking about game designers, executives, and so on) might be sexists, albeit, to the best of my knowledge, this is not true. but surely the vast majority of the fans that have a bitter...

    what's you're favourite TSR/ WotC setting?

cast your vote! :) i've added multiple versions of the same setting, for those settings whose massive changes i'm aware. i'm sure i missed something out... dragonlance has changed so many times, that i don't even know what's up with it today. i put the two "classic" options of the war of the...

just a question... how exactly became known that williams had such a low opinion on gamers? all i know about the subject comes from hearsay, or from magazine articles dating 1996 or so, with very little attribution.

totally OT, but i have to share this: when Dave Gross was the editor of the magazine, i submitted an article on adding background music to AD&D games. i was 17, i think, and i wanted nothing but being published in the magazine (i managed, some time later... too bad it was only a letter in...

uuuh... are the proposal still available somewhere? i think i recall there was a repository, but i can't find it. it would be really nice to do such a thing online: opening a thread in which whoever can post their own "1 page worth" setting, and having another thread for discussion. it would...
