    Armor Class

In any case, going to a message board and making half a dozen topics saying, "What's this?" "How do I find that?" "Wait, what does this mean?" is quite possibly the WORST idea. Either read the book, again and again, until it makes sense, or find someone who can explain it to you in person...

A feat to gain a domain?

Is there any particular reason you couldn't just buy a scroll of Miracle or Wish and just have another high-level caster cast them on you? And, by the way, Miracle can't, by the RAW, grant inherent bonuses to ability scores.

    Pricing a Dazing Sword

Doesn't it better replicate a Daze (Sor/Wiz0) spell?

It was Girallon's Blessing. It's reprinted in the Spell Compendium.

    A question about a 7-th level character

Sorry, where exactly are you planning on getting Evasion?

    Armor Class

Um... I'm assuming you're new to D&D. Since it would be pointless to go into detail (you've got a Player's Handbook, do you not? If so, read it. If not, why not?) I'll just make it simple: Your armor bonus is the bonus granted by your armor. If you have armor, look wherever in the Player's...

    some misc. questions

It's cool. In general, though, VERY few things (to my knowledge) are left that vague. It would be incredibly uncommon for a classic D&D monster or adventure or whatever to have a passage that simply says, "The PCs can get something awesome here" without saying anything else. Simply saying "He...

    some misc. questions

The Wishes that a djinn can grant follow the rules of the Wish spell. If you've read the Wish spell, it has relatively specific guidelines as to what it can do and what it cant. Typically, if an effect is too powerful, it will either fail, or backfire in some way so as to be detrimental to the...

    Boosting Spell DCs

But, honestly, if you drop an enemy to 0 Int during a battle, it's dead. Unless it's got a buddy who can (and will) heal it or take it to safety, it's dead. It'll be CDG'ed as soon as the battle ends. And if it's your only foe? That's a one-shot right there.

    A Couple Archmage Questions

It's Age of Worms, actually. (Important distinction, as there's just a few dragons in the campaign, and it all kinda revolves around these little green worms.) I love that campaign- I ran it for some friends of mine, and it was easily my favorite D&D campaign I've ever been a part of. I suggest...

High Jump, bringing that X4 to DC down a bit, and falling damage.

If you happen to allow non-WotC products, there's a nice book called Beyond Monks: The Art of the Fight or something like that made by the Chainmail Bikini company. It's all about monks (including prestige classes, feats, and so on that all use Monk abilities to power, as well as a more...

    A Couple Archmage Questions

Actually, the good thing about Arcane Fire (its only redeeming quality, IMO) is that it doesn't allow Spell Resistance. That, coupled with the fact that it's got Long Range (we're looking at around 1200 feet for a 20th-level Archmage), and the fact that you can use a 0-level spell to do 5d6...

...Are you serious? Wow. Every group I've played with for the last four years has been doing it wrong... Huh, helps to read the books now and then, right? :-P

High Jump, bringing that X4 to DC down a bit, and falling damage.

No. According to the FAQ, the only time you take falling damage is when you end up lower than where you started. So if you're somehow able to jump 60 feet straight up, you wouldn't take falling damage unless you landed farther than 60 feet down after your jump.

    Sneak Attack and Touch Spells

First off, making a touch attack with a spell (sneak attack or no sneak attack) is completely different from making a regular unarmed attack with a spell on top of it (sneak attack or no sneak attack). Meaning, you can't roll to see if you hit, and go with whichever your roll would allow. If all...

How to make 'being surrounded by enemy crossbowmen' deadlier?

Nice post, Shilsen. I'll definitely consider some of the things you said. (I've tried to use some of what you said in the past, but none of it ever really seemed like it worked, felt forced, etc. Anyway, I'll just keep at it.) I honestly never read that guideline in the DMG, though, about how...

    level adjustment

Actually, to find the amount of XP a party receives, you first have to find the average party level. So if you've got 4 people, two of them level 6, one level 8, and one level 20, the average party level is 10. Therefore, you'd look on the XP chart in the DMG, and compare the party's level (10)...

Touch of Idiocy + sneak attack

The posts thus far have been correct. There is no damage being dealt, and therefore Sneak Attack does nothing. If the spell dealt damage (such as 1d6 ability damage to the target's Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores), the spell would be able to Sneak Attack, dealing Negative Energy damage...

    Concentration Question

Does it make sense that the Intimidate skill, which is used almost exclusively by Fighters and Barbarians, is based off your Charisma, which is only of vital importance to Spontaneous Casters (Sorcerers & Bards) and Skill-Monkeys (Rogues)? Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: When you think about...

    level adjustment

Ooh, I forgot about that. Yeah, the 1st-level Drow is considered a 3rd-level character for purposes of determining XP. It's not that big of a deal right now (as I think that 1st-3rd level characters count as the same on the XP chart), but for a character who takes on a template at a higher...
