I tend to believe the flavor of the game is to have fun, and in a sense that includes the DM... Also, I believe the flavor of the goblins is to be almost like kobolds, dancing around and moving confounds their enemy into a lil frustration =)

Well, personally, I would use thunderwave to cut down trees... has a push involved that just cannot be beaten, and you could get more trees... surely a couple rounds of that would suffice to break some decent shrubbery??

OR... Could have regular human fighters wielding greataxes who use cleave and mow down TWO trees at a time! =)

Well.... there is a neat way to wipe out minions free of charge pretty much... With the rod of corruption to spread the curse, a pact blade and fey pact are broken... Sage/WotC already agreed in e-mail (we had to ask!) That you curse a minion, the minion will attack, take a point of damage...

I do not see it the same way as most of you obviously... I don't see the uniformity you speak of... inferring that everyone will be uniform and "equal" is like assuming that every human in RL will become good at everything... Construction workers will be programming computers as well as anyone...
