    Two-Weapon Fighting Rules?

Is this for non-rangers only, or am I not going to be able to be a twin-bastard-sword-wielding ass-kicker? (I can live without the 2WF feats, though of course they'd be nice if I can get them..) I *know* my DM is going to give me the Patented Raised Eyebrow when I present my build, so I'd like...

    Two-Weapon Fighting Rules?

So, uhm, what does the off-hand property actually DO in the game? It's not needed for a ranger to wield his off-hand weapon. It's apparently not needed to take 2WF feat. So what's it for? Not trying to be an ass here...sometime between next week and 6 months from now, my DM is switching to...

    Two-Weapon Fighting Rules?

I am now confused. If I am a 2WF ranger and take WP:Bastard Sword, I can wield one in each hand and use all my 2WF ranger powers, right? If I then take the 2-weapon fighting *feat*, does it: Apply if I'm using 2 bastard swords? Apply only if I am using an "off hand" weapon in my, erm...

    Fan Policy? FAQ?

Uhm...Lizard did not intend "subtle contempt and scorn". Lizard wants to know if there is any news, even a "We can't stop to work on the FAQ now, we're too busy counting the money from the sold-out PHB." Lizard attempted to evoke a humorous moment from a classic 1980s film. Lizard forgot humour...

4e Level 30 Magic Items. Who makes these things?

People keep SAYING this, and I have to wonder if I got the 4e rules from an alternate dimension. 4e makes PC magic item crafting EASIER than any prior edition, continuing a trend. 1e: You want to craft a magic item? Fine, your character will spend the next year making a scroll, play someone...

    Help me build: Jayne Cobb

I think Jayne's charisma was pretty high. His job was Public Relations, after all. Remember, Charisma is more "force of personality" than "likability". For wisdom....he had good senses and strong will. Not so much on the empathy, and he was pretty easy to trick...I'd call it 10-14, depending...

How would you write Curse of the Bloody Fangs to make sense?

That would be my interpretation. I'm not an expert, of course.

    Fan Policy? FAQ?

I'd settle for some indication the process is moving forward. What would thrill me would be an explanation of why something whose necessity has been known for three years (at least since the start of 4e development) and which should be very simple to produce (there's got to be a dozen...

Marks and other conditions being known

After we figure out the intent of the designers, perhaps we can get together with the Supreme Court and figure out the intent of the drafters of the Constitution. It can't be much harder.

Marks and other conditions being known

Like I (and others) have said: You can work out if the kobold may or may not know all the possibilities, or just have a blanket rule that he does, and that's that. He does know he's marked; he knows whatever power was used to mark him and what it can do. He DOESN'T know the fighter's inventory...

How would you write Curse of the Bloody Fangs to make sense?

P 278 says that powers which are "conditional" or "sustained" have durations. The implication is that if it has a "Sustained" section, it has a duration. (4e rules could have used a second editing pass: Film at 11.)

Marks and other conditions being known

Well, the way the rules are written, the creature knows ALL EFFECTS of any power used on him -- including that if he's marked by you and he shifts, you can whack him. The point is to allow creatures to make intelligent tactical decisions, and not burden the DM with trying to second-guess what...

4e--can you write a novel using it?

Not really, since the things you picked are things which happen in fantasy literature all the time. Healing surge: "Brog! Are you alright?" "Bah! You think that pathetic pig-spawn could hurt me?" He tried to hide his wince of pain, and failed. Nonetheless, he forced himself to his feet...

How would you write Curse of the Bloody Fangs to make sense?

This makes sense as written to me... Warlock cast spell. Target is bitten. There's little magic jaws all around him. Snap snap! On the start of the monster's next turn, he and and anything adjacent to him get chomped. At the end of his next turn, he rolls a save. If he succeeds, the jaws...

    Fate of WotC Closed Content?

This is incorrect. It's not a 100% boolean issue of "I will/will not move to 4e". One of the factors getting people to switch to 4e once their current games have expired is the perception of 3e as a "dead" system. If there are people making support products for 3e, the game seems "alive" and...

Marks and other conditions being known

Page 57, second column, last paragraph. Any creature affected by a power know that it is affected and knows who did it. Creatures are always aware of all conditions affecting them and the source of the condition. (Since the whole point of marking a creature is to make him attack you, it would...

    Ranger w/2 bastard swords

Oh, it fits the concept just fine. :) He's supposed to be a scary-ass mofo in an urban setting, and someone who is whipping around two six-foot long swords is pretty damn scary. The cost of one feat for, in essence, +1 damage and +2 on critical is pretty good, and it stacks nicely with Weapon...
