Yeah, that's pretty neat. A dragon swoops down and breathes fire all over the party, but you can use that power so that the dragons breath weapon hits you, alone. Pretty amusing... in a masochistic sort of way. :)

I don't mind it, myself. Maybe I've watched to many episodes of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, but I liked it when you had a non-magic user like Giles using ritual magic for whatever reason. Don't see why a learned Fighter or Rogue couldn't do the same.

I'm hoping there's separate Ritual lists, with Arcane and Divine Rituals. It'd be cool to get Divine Rituals for a Paladin character, for instance. Having access to Arcane Rituals would just be weird, though.

Those are skill bonuses. They don't affect things like bonus to hit and damage due to strength. A Fighter with Str 18 gets +4 to hit and +4 to damage due to his strength at Level 1, and he gets +4 to hit and +4 to damage due to his strength at Level 30.
